Hello Fade Rifters!

Some of you (and your characters) may have heard mutterings of late of a giant snow fight being organised, despite the summer weather. It's true! For the sake of boosting morale, team building and generally having a good time and making friends, Ruby has been working with Adelaide to organise it, and this is a glorious sign up post.

The fight itself will be Wednesday 13th July*, and currently there are six teams.

Basically it's going to be in the valley and involve a lot of magically produced snow and ice fortresses for each team, courtesy of Adelaide's students. It'll pretty much be a very fancy game of flag capture - no weapons, no magic, just a tonne of snow and siege equipment for attacking ice forts. Some of the snow will be dyed to match team colours.

Observers are also welcome! There'll be drinks and food on hand, and benches as well, but totally come picnic on the grass and laugh at the Inquisition demolishing each other with snow.

Teams will be randomised, both ICly and OOCly! Part of the goal is to build friendships (cough cr) and work with people characters normally wouldn't, and it'll basically be party style chaos and shenanigans.

If you'd like to sign our character up, please use the form below! You're welcome to sign up more than one character, but if you could number them in order of involvement preference that'd be awesome - the more sign ups we get the more characters we can involve per player, basically.

If you have questions or suggestions or would like to volunteer a character to be involved in a non-fight capacity, please chuck them at the comment.

Team Leaders are currently Merrill, Adelaide, Norrington, Blackwall, Obi-Wan & Cassandra. They have assigned colours, there will be names, it'll be gr8.


ETA: Sign-ups with close on the 10thish (that's when I will do team sorting and post it so people can start planning any ridiculous they'd like to get up to, but if you want to be involved and you missed the deadline get in touch with me anyway and we'll see what can be done 8Db)

ETA2: *The IC date was originally the 16th, but I was a noodle and forgot to check the calendar - to allow those going to Dairsmund to also participate (without predicting what their character got up to) the IC date was brought forward, and so will the posting date. Weekend shenanigans still 300% acceptable.

Is capture of opposing teammates possible? Are there any circumstances under which a person is considered "out," like being hit one too many times with snowballs?

I'm going to say no to both, and a bit later provide some info one how the winning will be decided!

The game is based on capturing flags rather than opponent elimination, for one, but also in the interests of giving people timeywimey flexibility and the room to thread as much as they like I think eliminating people could get confusing or limiting. Snow will just result in dye splatter and being cold :]b
