Player Plot: Sulevin Blade Quest
WHO: Ellana, Galadriel + 4 others
OPEN/CLOSED: Closed
WHAT: the quest to retrieve the Sulevin Blade
WHERE: a secret spot in the Dales
WHEN: January 13th/Wintermarch 13th
QUICK NOTE: In the interest of making this less predictable if you've played out this quest in the video game, this is a re-imagining and isn't the Cradle of Sulevin or Ruined Blade quest. Also, the IC date for this is Wintermarch 13th, so this occurs before the events of the Winter Palace Part II, but since it's in the Dales, your character can definitely get to the Winter Palace in time for it.
SUMMARY: For some time now, Ellana has been researching cryptic clues left in elven ruins that have been leading towards the location of the Sulevin Blade. Unfortunately the last clue was so hard to decipher that she turned to Galadriel for help. After having a silverite bowl forged and filled with water, this Mirror of Galadriel that shows "things that were, things that are, and some things that have not yet come to pass" narrowed down the final resting place of the Sulevin Blade. Now the elves are on their way to retrieve it.
This retrieval mission will have several phases before the final boss battle and each will have a separate thread. However, I will post each phase starter after we've completed the previous one, so we need to keep things moving and I may have to skip players to finish the thread if too much time has passed. At a couple of points, I'll ask you to put something (like the results of a d20 roll, for example) in your subject header so I can tailor the thread around it. In the interest of keeping things exciting, I don't want to reveal too much beforehand, but there will be running, fighting, fire, finding something else to retrieve on the way to the sword, and a big bad.
Will our intrepid heroes finally find this famous elven blade of lore? Will they learn a powerful lesson about friendship? Will they have time to stop at The Olive Garden on the way back?
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: If your character knows either Ellana or Galadriel and has shown themselves to be sympathetic to elves, then you can sign up! Note that there's a difference between "being lowkey racist but keeping their mouth shut" and "actually being friends with elves and caring about them." The Sulevin Blade is an important elven artifact from a tumultuous time in history, so everyone involved in searching for it needs to be respectful and not just treasure hunters. Plus Galadriel is super scary, so don't try pulling a fast one on her. She'll know.

PHASE 2: After some exploration, something happens that requires them to rescue something valuable.
PHASE 3: This is a race against the clock, as the environment is against them and enemies are trying to take out the team.
PHASE 4: Boss fight + finale.
