ANNOUNCEMENTS
We're nearing our opening date, so here's some important information:
Application DatesApplications will open on Wednesday, October 14, at 11:59 PM EST.
Reserves will remain valid until Sunday, October 18, at 11:59 PM EST.
During the day between reserves expiring and apps closing, we'll review the first app received for any character.
Applications will close on Monday, October 19, at 11:59 PM EST.
Event Dates
Native characters can being RPing in and around Skyhold as soon as they are accepted.
Rifter characters will have an arrival log that will go up on October 21. A small number of native characters will be part of the crew that discovers the rifters. We'll put up an OOC sign-up post for this when we begin reviewing apps.
There will be a gamewide event posted on October 25.
Application Reminders
We have a 500 word limit for personality sections and a 350-500 word limit (depending on character type) for history sections. We don't expect you to touch on every psychological nuance and minor event. Hit the important points and don't stress about it.
AU'd Dragon Age protagonists cannot keep their canon surnames or clan names. You are welcome to invent your own Dalish clans, human or dwarven noble families, etc.
Rifter character must take the physical shape of one of the races of Thedas (human, dwarf, etc.) and their abilities may need to be modified to conform to the rules, tone, and relative power level of the universe. Imagine that whatever is pushing your character through the Fade is remaking them into a more plausible Thedosian in the process, because it doesn't want them to be put into a cage or burned alive immediately on arrival. If you need help, you can PM this journal or ask on the App Help meme.
To help preserve the initial human-majority feel/politics of the Inquisition, we are currently only allowing each player to have one elven character.
No native can be a member of the Yakuza, not even the Iron Bull.
Info Pages
For the Taken list, we'll be asking players to include a link to an info/nav page for their characters. You're welcome to create your own, use plain text, or use a fancier code, but if you want something simple, we made an info sheet. Copy/paste the code below and fill in anything marked with ***.
