Player Plot: The Arlathvhen
The Arlathvhen
Only once every decade or so do the Dalish clans come together, and their Keepers, elders, leaders, and clans, meet to exchange knowledge and culture in a gathering called the Arlathvhen.
And, this year, that could be you.
WHO can sign up?
While only Dalish elves can pass without commentary, anyone who is obviously and convincingly “an elf” can attend, vouched for by the Inquisition Dalish in attendance— whether they like it or not. So be on your best behavior or else you’ll be getting your sponsors in….so much trouble.
WHEN is this happening?
July is a busy month, but then all months are busy! It is my hope that the logs will go up August 1st. Signups are open until July 22.
WHAT will happen at the Arlathvhen?
Attendees will be able to participate in exchange of information, culture, and friendship. At the Arlathvhen’s Bazaar, Dalish people and clans will be exchanging everything from handmade goods, recipes, halla, and people all the way up to precious cultural artifacts, rare and vital texts, and shuffling the placement of The People’s young mages appropriately.
Less formally, the general meeting place will allow for simple social interaction and exchange of stories, songs, recipes, and news. Rumors will fly and attendees will have a chance to make friends and explore informal friendships and alliances with individuals among the gathered clans.
The Dalish leadership in the form of the Keepers and some of the People’s most venerated Hahren will gather in a semi-closed council to discuss the future and past of the Dalish, make decisions about custody of artifacts and magically-blooded people, and confer on the issues of the day. As they renew the bonds of the Dalish diaspora, they will be available to hear petitions, information, and suggestions from all comers, though any decisions or opinions are reached privately between the leaders and handed down piecemeal, as no clan holds authority over any other.
Finally, there will be a semi-private camp-space for Inquisition guests to gather, converse, compare notes, and complain about the generally insular and unhelpful dalish people.
To sign up for attendance, here’s a little form to post in the appropriate toplevel below. Signups are open until July 22.
