OCTOBER PLOT DISCUSSION

Because we have a lot of assignments and player plots about to start rolling, this post is here for any miscellaneous plot discussion that needs to take place on the OOC comm. You're still welcome to corral everyone to discuss things on Plurk, Discord, or whatever else! But since not all of our players are available on all of those services, and some conversations are better held in a more organized way, you can also post your own-top level comment for a given assignment/plot here and use that for organization and discussion.

If you post a top-level comment, make sure you indicate in the subject line whether the discussion is CLOSED (e.g., for an assignment with a chosen team) or OPEN (e.g., brainstorming for something new that anyone is welcome to jump in on).

Yaaaas. We've lost a couple of our Grey Wardens in the project, but we still have Inessa and Kain if she wants extra Wardens for their Blighty knowledge too.

Yes!!! I was thinking the Wardens on the team will be especially useful here, with their knowledge and also just... keeping an eye on the thing while they're keeping it around, helping with when they're taking samples from it or whatever else is needed for Staying Safe While Harboring a Filthy Darkspawn.

The full details are here but Yngvi needs no more than 7-8 people total to come with him to Orzammar identify the current positions and attitudes the leadership hold and if there's anything that might be done to y'know change that. Grease the wheels.

Obviously they're not jazzed about Corypheus and Darkspawn being organised, Bhelen doesn't think he's in a position to just throw troops at this when the Darkspawn might threaten Orzammar and the Assembly are hammer and tongs for sealing off any extra passages in and out of the Great Thaig - including those leading to Tevinter which cut off transport and info - until the threat is ended.

The option is on the table for the team to report that access to the passageways would be impossible and that'd be that but they can try to change that decision with a delightful in the main comment to approach so we can keep that Tevinter connection open.

I'm cool with however this'd be played out and for a good mix but probably a Warden of decent standing given we're trying to look good in Orzammar and they fucking love Wardens. The weirdos.

and please do file an official report (to whatever extent it'd be talked about, like i'm assuming some of the taint cure stuff is still under secret warden blood magic wraps) so that other players can reference it easily ooc & when wren quits to join the circus the info's still accessible ic

Yeah, I think that'll come down to how Merrill hides what she's doing from the rest of the team, and we can probably handwave them not pushing her to tell them based on the general excitement of having the Blight-lyrium connection from all their other tests too, like cleansing runes. The mods outlined how the Blight retreats from it, but it doesn't erase it, so cleansing runes aren't a cure and Merrill can keep quiet on her actual cleansing techniques.

OPEN | fail to block trade to antiva

In a bid to hamper trade between Tevinter and Antiva, Nell + a small team is being sent to the Antivan border to block a major trade route one way or another--hiring mercenaries to harass merchants, causing a rockslide to block the pass, whatever!--without letting Antiva know the Inquisition is messing with them.

They're going to fail miserably.

What they try and how exactly it fails so badly is up to us, and I am open to ideas. One thing that's been settled is that because we rolled so badly, Nell will be ending up in an Antivan jail for a bit, and if anyone else would like to get carted off with her that's an option but not a requirement.

Clarke's ability to personally contribute would probably be trap-based, but she'd be down for anything. If it winds up to be a team of mages she can help identify good spots to cause magic chaos or whatever, too.

The things I'd be interested in RPing would be DESTRUCTIOOON and CR building, and also whoever is getting arrested getting arrested and whoever is not (I think I'd prefer Clarke not) having to lie low and make the call not to jump in and try to save them.

SO the assignment actually said I could take more than 2 people, but I've found threads with more than three hard to keep up in a timely fashion, which is why I originally limited it.

HOWEVER I am keen to include everyone who was interested, because it sounds delightful, so a question: If I made a post with a primary thread for the guys who won the RNG, would you be interested in a secondary thread with Cosima (and possibly Clarke and/or Wysteria if they're also game)? We could handwave that all six of them are on the mission as a whole but are taking individual expeditions in smaller groups, maybe.

If you've got other stuff lined up for Alex this month or you're just otherwise occupied, no pressure, but otherwise I'm keen. (And if team members want to thread without Cos in the general context of "we're on a camping trip," that's also totally fine with me.)
