EMPRISE DU LION

Happy Snowmageddon, Fade Rift! At least those of you in the eastern half of the US. Everyone else, happy January, be glad you don't have to shovel any snow. But your characters just might, because it is time for the Inquisition's forces to move in to Emprise du Lion. Located just on the other side of the Frostback Mountains, Emprise is a very large region, snowy, rocky, and currently overrun by Red Templars, who scouts report have taken up residence in the hills and are capturing locals and travelers and forcing them to work mining red lyrium. A map of the region is available here and marked with key locations like the Inquisition's camps and main areas of Red Templar control.

ARRIVAL

The first large contingent of the Inquisition's forces will arrive in Emprise on Wintermarch 25, aka January 25, with others to follow. You can begin slightly forward-dated RP immediately. Any and all characters are welcome to go to Emprise, and may arrive whenever their players like. The terrain between Skyhold and Emprise is difficult but they are quite close together, so as with the Fallow Mire, characters may travel back and forth between them as their players prefer. We just ask that you don't RP in one place one day and the other the next and then back to the first the next, etc.

RIFTERS

Rifter characters will also be arriving in Emprise du Lion. We have created a top-level on the IC Post for arrival threads and more information about the situation the rift drops them into this time is provided there. Their initial arrival through the rift is closed to this month's new rifters only. Get ready to fend for yourselves!

LOGISTICS

We're trying something a little different this time and have broken the IC Post into a few different top levels for different areas (in addition to the top-level for arriving Rifters). Each of these provides more specific information about an area of Emprise and Inquisition activity in it. You are welcome to post in one, two, or all of them if you like. We hope that breaking things up this way will help make clear what types of things are happening where outside of mod-run plot, and will make it easier for players to identify and pursue new CR opportunities based on what tasks their characters are interested in.

CLOSED QUESTS

We will be offering additional mod-run, limited-slot quests for Emprise du Lion. These will include, among other things:

The forward press into Suledin Keep to take control of the fortress.
Rescuing prisoners from the Red Templars and shutting down their mining operation.
Handling Valeska's Watch, an abandoned Grey Warden fortress that now poses a danger.
DRAGONS.

So please refrain from having your characters solve those problems independently in the meantime.

Sign-ups will be posted tomorrow along with some basic info about each option to allow you to prioritize between them. If we have more people interested than we do slots, participating characters will be chosen by RNG.

TENTS & TASKS

As in the Fallow Mire, we'd like to help facilitate some easy opportunities for new CR. Feel free to sign up for either or both of these with any or all of your characters. Participation is 100% optional. The deadline for these sign-ups is Monday 1/25 @ 8:00pm
