MOD NOTE: TEVINTER NIGHTS

MOD NOTE: TEVINTER NIGHTS

Dear Fade Rift:

In light of Tevinter Nights being released soon and almost definitely containing some plot bombshells and canon details about things we've previously been making up ourselves, please refrain from incorporating canon plot or lore additions from the book into your FR RP for the next month or so. We want spoilers-averse folks to be able to read in peace! And we need time modside to figure out if there are any significant aspects we aren't going to be able to incorporate into FR, for whatever reason, and announce anything that's being excised or altered before anyone runs away with it. We'll make another post once we've had a chance to assess.

This includes any new magic/explanations of how magic may work, and similar. We've developed a lot of rules about inventing new magic and what is or isn't possible in Thedas as we understand it and told various people they aren't allowed to do various things, because what's fun to read or video game about may not work in a collaborative RP environment. So not everything depicted in the book may be allowed in FR canon, and we'll need to announce any changes to our previous limits systematically to make sure it's fair to everyone.

However, it's fine to immediately incorporate small non-plotty canon details like new words from Thedosian languages, place names, minor historical figures, or other things that we already allow everyone to make up whenever they want anyway, so long as they don't spoil any of the stories and you don't use them as a way to win IC arguments with people who haven't read the book or something, because that's rude.

This also applies to the comics, for anyone reading those.

Thanks!

Management
