Hello. Me again, plot again.

WHAT: A small team of sneaks (Team Spy) will spend a while making friends with the new Venatori overlords in an occupied region of Orlais. Intel will indicate the Tevinters are looking for something important to Corypheus, so they'll need to get access to figure out what it is and where it might be. Once they've done that, a separate small group (Team Dungeon) will attempt to get to the Mystical Object before the Venatori. But they'll get caught and dragged back to the Venatori-occupied fortress and imprisoned. jazz hands!

The main point of the plot will be Team Dungeon trying not to crack under interrogation while the spies try not to blow their covers long enough to break everyone out, orchestrate a plan to steal the secret object, and make a clean getaway without getting any local contacts killed, etc. Success not guaranteed.

HOW: I'm going to experiment with doing the main group action sequence (springing the prisoners, escaping with the object, etc.) in one single scheduled short-tag boomerang session—or possibly on Discord if everyone who participates has Discord access—so outcomes can be genuinely up in the air without it dragging on and me losing steam like a jerk. I'm planning to do that on July 25, starting around noon US Central. If you won't be around or wouldn't enjoy it, you can still sign up, but your character will be unconscious or doing something vaguely useful off-screen during the action movie sequence. Unless no one at all wants to do it. Then we will do it the normal way.

Other than that:

Team Spy will spend a month working on this. They'll have crystals and semi-safe access to an eluvian to get back to the Gallows if they're needed for something else, and depending on their cover identities it may especially make sense for them to not be there as much, so it shouldn't keep you from RPing other stuff in the meantime! But for IC context purposes it'd be taking a lot of their time. There won’t be a log or any specific event during this time, but we can all RP whatever spy shenanigans people want in the lead-up.

Once Team Dungeon is brought in, I'll set up an open log for anyone on both teams who wants to do CR-y threads, like "oh no, my buddy is being knocked around and I have to pretend not to care" and "oh no, I'm locked in a cell with someone I hate" and "oh no, they've said they're going to kill one of us in the morning if we don't talk and we have to decide who."

WHO: Team Spy requires people who can plausibly sell some sort of cover to gain access to a Tevinter-held fortress in occupied Orlais. It doesn’t matter whether that means convincing the head honcho to marry them or just managing to get a job working in the kitchen. It’ll be a multi-pronged infiltration, so as long as you can think of something they could do to get access to relevant people/places, they’ll be fine. Rifters are invited as long as they can pass for natives and keep their anchors hidden.

Team Dungeon can be anyone who’d be able to move quickly and help find, transport, protect and/or understand the workings of a Mystical Object. They'll be roughed up to some extent so being okay OOC with at least a little bruising is a requirement.

SIGN-UPS: This post has sign-ups for both parts just to keep things consolidated, but sign-ups for Team Spy will close sooner (on June 27) and those folks will get to work in early July. I'm looking for 1-2 other people for that. Sign-ups for Team Dungeon won’t close until mid-July, so I'll remind people closer to that time, and I'm aiming for 2-3 people there. The escape log will happen mostly on July 25.
