PLAYER PLOT SIGNUPS | treehaus.
WHAT? An Orlesian nobleman, Marquis Gaume, has built a splendid hedge maze on his property. The problem? It's haunted. He's asked Jone, who's done mercenary work for him in the past, to fix it up. Riftwatch would like others to help her do it under the Riftwatch banner, to make it a show of stability and gain some favor in the region.
WHO? 6 people. Will RNG signups if necessary. No priority, you don't have to be a fighter to join in; this is built for characters of all types and temperaments.
HOW? For those familiar with my previous 'murderhaus' plot in October, this will be running similarly. However, it's taking inspiration from Abby's Don't Dumat Open Inside plot, and will thus involve puzzles and riddles.
(For those unfamiliar: threads will involve asking for me to 'roll' the outcome of certain actions. You never have to roll for anything. However, the rolling invites a random element and the possibility of failure.)
Essentially, each character will be traversing the maze and happen upon one riddle and one puzzle. They can solve it with their teammates, who will change each time as they get further lost in the maze.
There is always a 'I give up' option for teams that involve just cutting through the haunted shrubbery, and that will affect the ending just as much as the 'right' answer will. However, all puzzles and riddles have multiple answers, and even if you come up with a solution I wasn't expecting, if it works (or is just sufficiently creative to impress the spirits / me) that might be enough.
Characters can do dice rolls to notice hidden clues as to the answers to puzzles or riddles, etc, or just crash through with swords or dispelling magic, paying the spirits no mind. Your choices will change the ending of the plot, but there is no 'bad' ending, just different ones.
WHEN? Signups close on Sunday the 13th. The log will be up the following Monday.
