Player Plot: The Mysterious Ruin
WHO: Ellana Ashara + Open
HOW MANY: 5-10.
OPEN/CLOSED: Open for sign ups
WHERE: somewhere in the Dales between Emprise du Lion and the Emerald Graves
WHEN: Harvestmere (October) 1-5 (the travel time there and back)
SUMMARY:
A couple months back, Ellana explored an elven ruin and found clues as to the location of the Sulevin Blade. After doing a ton of research to try and pin down the location with help from one of Leliana's scouts, Ellana thinks she knows where to go next. She'll need a crack team of adventurers to help her explore this ruin! There could be danger! There could be demons! There could be-- are those someone's breeches?
So here's the deal: Dragon Age is full of lots of dark things, but let's not forget this series brought us quests such as The Tiniest Cave, Correspondence Interruptus, and The One True Pantaloons to name a few. In the spirit of those quests, I'm doing a fun little plot here that will take a group to an elven ruin, looking for the Sulevin Blade or more clues as to where it is. Along the way the party will need to do elven rituals (similar to The Elven Ritual perhaps), collect items (you collect raspberry jam in Ancient History for crying out loud), and maybe meet a tiny friend along the way (A nug. I'm just telling you it's a nug).
This is meant to be lighthearted, silly, and just a break from all the combat and dark things that these poor characters have suffered lately, but eventually, all these silly things will lead them to the next clue as to where the Sulevin Blade is located.
How will this work? Glad you asked! I'm going to keep a linear time line in just one thread that we all hit up. If you sign up for this quest, please try to hit it up with a tag at least once a day or every other day just to keep it moving along. The tag can be as short as your character just being like "Hey, I'm still here," just so the plot doesn't get stalled out. Borrowing from the lovely KB and Bella, I'll throw out clues as to what is in each part of the ruin, so you guys can have your characters explore and together the party figures out how to get through each area/unlock doors/etc. (No, seriously. How did the Warden know to collect a jar of raspberry jam?)
Who should go on this quest? If you character isn't a balls to the wall extreme elven racist, then chances are Ellana would open the invitation to come along to them. Of course she's expecting it to be filled with danger, so imagine her surprise when they start finding naughty love letters. Where is the Prince Consort when you need him to collect this junk?
Wait, why would all this silly stuff be in an elven ruin? Shh, just... shh.
No, seriously, let's just go with the idea that the place has been ransacked and messed with over the centuries, and that's why there are outside influences. Their goal of the Sulevin Blade clue is still laying undisturbed in the final chamber.
