Welcome to Fade Rift! If you're a new player, use this post to introduce us to you and your character. This is your chance to set up preexisting CR and get the ball rolling on any plans and ideas you might have -- but if you don't really know what you want yet, that's fine, too. Just show us some cool pictures or something.

Who They Are: Orlesian duke, here to judge you and alarm his granddaughter (Gwenaëlle to you).
Where They've Been: In Orlais. He will possibly be tossed at the Winter Palace link, but if I renege on that he'll be arriving at Skyhold in the aftermath.
What They Want: To get more information on what has become an organization that is harder to ignore if you're an Orlesian noble. Also to check up on this shard that's making his granddaughter's life so difficult.
Plot & CR Desires: Give me your nobles being the worst. Give me Gwen's friends. (Does Gwen's father dislike you? Instant in with Romain.) Give me politics and plotty stuff. He is not inherently into world saving, but he would like to continue to live in it, so.

Who They Are: Standard guilt-driven Templar. Known for hunting maleficar. Doing her best to hide a leaky memory and also a small coven of blood mages. Sent to the Inquisition by a kinda shady Chantry mother, in order to narc help out.

Where They've Been: Grew up in an Orlesian border town, trained in Val Royeaux. Posted to the White Spire, traveled all over escorting research and hunting rogue mages. Wasn't present for the Annulment. Whoops.

What They Want: To make change with the time she has left. Also: A sandwich, to resolve that “hidden blood mage” thing, to find a missing Templar she trained, a long nap, and not to lose her mind. Make that two sandwiches.

Plot & CR Desires: In the long term, I'd like to get her trusting people again. Then again, I'd also have fun with that trust being misplaced. I guess what I’m saying here is I’m down for anything. Also HMU if you want past CR!!

Who They Are: He is the first King of the Sindar Elves; he is also one of the first Elves of Arda period, though he is not the oldest of his brothers.
Where They've Been: He'll be arriving in the aftermath of Skyhold, I think, since he is a Rifter.
What They Want: Stability. Peace. People to call his own. Treasure. What else can a King ask for?
Plot & CR Desires: I am greedy when it comes to allies for him, but enemies are welcome too. Thingol isn't easy to ruffle.

Welcome! I'm Isana, and have two ladies here. One you've already met, Inessa Serra, my elf Circle mage/Grey Warden. She's not very elfy at all thanks to upbringing, so throwing her against those who are is a fun contrast. My other is a qunari mercenary mage, Korrin Ataash (gatheringstorm), who's only a few inches taller than Thingol and may or may not be annoyed by that fact. If you want our TDM thread stuff to carry over somehow or would rather start fresh, let me know! I'm flexible.

Inessa won't have any particular problem with Wren (unless she finds out about the blood mages, which is a huge no for her), though as usual Korrin will be side-eyeing about the whole Templar thing. I look forward to interacting with her from either perspective.

Either works for me! Thingol will be pretty on edge - more so at first thanks to the circumstances - but he wouldn't treat her any differently. :D

Korrin, don't be jelly. Tall Elf is tall but not AS tall as before. He is 6'8" now instead of 8'.

ahaha she keeps that particular secret under tight wraps as part of the whole "not dying and not getting other people dead" plan.

so positive cr with inessa would be totally possible! her town was hit by the blight, so she's a pretty big fan of wardens, and might conceivably drop by the camp.

i'd also be down for korrin if she needs another templar to glare at. i could see wren being interested in her as the official Loudest Apostate on the Council.

i admit to very little familiarity with the silm, but thingol looks super cool. don't let that go to his head. i'd love cr, if you're down!

so i heard this dude likes treasure, and i have a character who has a habit of taking and hiding ""treasure"" (read: shiny things, bones, lint) around the castle. either trying to take thingol's stuff, or stumbling upon one of those hidey holes, could be a potential hook. or in a more general prompt, he could just be pumped to see another giant shiny elf.

i've also got this gal now who swordfights, so there's always training or something as a possibility as well!

i'm not sure what yet, but i'd love to do something for realsies with you in game. wren knows gwen's mage uncle, and her brother also died at montsimmard (what is with that place? i have to look up how to spell it every time), and idk. i'll find a reason to bug you i think is the point.

i wanted to apologize too for dropping our alan/cosima thread last month; everything got a little hinky with the holidays, but i promise it wasn't for lack of interest.

Plot & CR Desires: Anything to get started - I'm not picky. Medicine man here is not the easiest person to get along with so negative CR is good! Good hooks for positive CR would be anything to do with demons/spirits, buying his wares (he has many), or just some good old fashioned gossip. He likes to know what's up.
Anything Else: He talks to his sword. It may or may not talk back.

i'd never heard of this canon, but the artwork looks gorgeous?? i love the idea of someone who is basically a squishy exorcist in this setting, it really makes me wish we had a solas and/or cole to bounce him off of.

THAT SAID i would love cr. i can offer a non-squishy exorcist whose version of exorcism is "what if we cut its head off", or a mage who might be interested in that fake medicine/gossip/dude are you talking to your sword.

Who They Are: Elven mage born in Val Royeaux, raised in Starkhaven and lived for some time in Kirkwall. Loyal to the Circles and sympathetic to both the templars and rebel mages alike. Has been busily helping the elves of Kirkwall in recent years while traveling as a bard; the singing kind not the stabbing kind.

Where They've Been: Free Marches: raised in Starkhaven and attended the Circle there until it burned down, had moved to the Circle in Kirkwall, has traveld to other Free Marcher states since the fall of the Circles; Orlais: born in Val Royeaux, traveled to many cities along the Imperial Highway; Nevarra: Nevarra City, Cumberland, Perendale; Ferelden: Highever, Amaranthine

What They Want: Firstly, she's determined to help the refugees she is bringing with her especially the ones that have been affected by red lyrium. Long term, she wants to help end the fighting still happening between mages and templars while also helping the Circles as she can. Mostly, she just wants to help. :(

• Other devout Andrastians! She prays often so she'll likely be a common sight in Skyhold's little chapel.
• Friends! No, really, if you make eye contact with her then she'll probably try and befriend you.

• She's always up for learning new things or just helping someone. She is the sort who really just tries her best no matter what.
• Has the patience of a saint and ultimately willing to sit and listen, no matter what. She will sing to you and pet your hair, no lie.
• Negative cr is also totally awesome! Saoirse can be a little naive and too kind so if someone generally came across as someone that needed help, she'd still help even if it all ended up being some hideous lie.

For Ellana, he would def think the shapeshifting is diddly darn cool and he'd likely be interested in the ruins just for the novelty of being in a new world.

Christine may also run into him once he learns a little about darkspawn/blight/red lyrium shenanigans since that would pique some real interest.

saoirse looks adorable, like to the extent that i looked up how to say "saoirse". i love the pb you've found? but also her tdm threads were very fun to read. anyway! if you are up for it, i would love cr with her on someone.

wren's going to be hanging around the chapel some, so while she's not devout that could be an opportunity for an intro, and/or she'd defs be interested in the refugees.

alan is devout if not by chantry standards, so while he avoids the chapel that could also be interesting too. he's also super into learning new things, if ill-advised "what happens if we drop this off the battlements" style learning is up her alley at all.

Mononoke is a pretty, pretty series and I highly recommend it if you're into psychological, supernatural horror.

A Cole or Solas would be delightful to bounce off of (especially Cole ahhh my dwarf inquisitor adopted him in like two seconds and never looked back. He and Dorian raised their spirit son good)

Non-squishy violent exorcist to butt heads with? Yes pls. Mage interested in gossip and medicine? Yes pls. Can't a man even talk to his weird, creepy, possibly-sentient-but-maybe-not sword without getting strange looks? Kids these days.

If it helps, he was the ruler/king of Thranduil's father, Oropher, and he met Thranduil when he was a child. So waaay back.

I am always down for CR! :3 He adores treasure. He actually died for treasure. Thingol would be very curious if he found one of those hidey holes. Who is acting like him, King Elf Pack-Rat? No, seriously, he collected so many things in Doriath.

Thank you! Both of your ladies would interest him very much. There are shape-shifters in Tolkien lore and I'd imagine Thingol knows of them, but to meet one in person would intrigue him. And Healers will always get a warm welcome from him.
