Welcome to Fade Rift! If you're a new player, use this post to introduce us to you and your character. This is your chance to set up preexisting CR and get the ball rolling on any plans and ideas you might have -- but if you don't really know what you want yet, that's fine, too. Just show us some cool pictures or something.

If you're an old player with a new character, this post is for you, too!

If you're an old player with old characters, please do not post a top level here. We'll have a CR meme on March 20! But do tag the heck out of our new people to help them get started.

Anything We Should Know: hey i was here like a year ago, what's up! life has finally settled down so i thought this would be a good time to try RPing again. but it has been a long time since i've done a proper group rp, so please be gentle.
Favorite GIF: how could you possibly make me choose between my children. how dare you. i don't know if i'd call it my favorite, but here is one that applies to my interests pretty well.

CHARACTER
Name: sigrun

Who They Are: sigrun the grey warden? sigrun the legionnaire of the dead? sigrun the dead dwarf? depends on who/when you ask.

But Actually: she is a legionnaire that joined the wardens in the hopes of getting to kill more darkspawn. which she did! not including the Architect, who she wanted to kill but was not told to, much to her chagrin. fast forward to the false calling and being in hiding at skyhold. while there, she was sent on a mission for the legion down in the deep roads. it did not go well. she wound up stuck there for a year, and has only recently resurfaced.
Where They've Been: she's originally a casteless dwarf from orzammar who joined the carta to get by. after that there was the legion that she totally joined willingly and not at all because she accidentally killed someone, which brought her to the deep roads. after that there was the wardens, which brought her to vigil's keep and amaranthine and various other places as duty called in the following years, but never for long. she spent a short time in skyhold with some other wardens, and then it was back to the deep roads. basically if you are a warden from around ferelden/orlais she may know you? or if you had an encounter with a warden, she could have been involved somehow. or deals with the carta, but that was, you know, a while ago.
What They Want: right now? to figure out what she's missed. in general? fighting the good fight, killing darkspawn and making up for her self-perceived shortcomings.
Plot & CR Desires: obligatory grey warden stuff, including reunions and figuring out what they've been up to and how she feels about all that? she didn't exactly leave on a good note with the false calling and being forced into hiding thing. she's also newly interested in looking into how red lyrium affects dwarves after her time in the deep roads, which i think could lead to some interesting rp. honestly, though, i'm really up for anything! sigrun lends herself well to a lot of situations, which is why i went with reapping her first. looking forward to rping with everyone!!
Anything Else: i apologize in advance for all of sigrun's bad jokes.

but yes hello! i was not around the last time you were here, and i am excited to be now. bringing that legion metal band radness to the table. i'm not exactly sure how to corner her for rp yet, but you bet your bottom dollar (which i'm sure is very low, on account of the height of dwarven pockets) i'll keep an eye out for her posts.

I remember you! I just played Korrin then, my loudmouth Vashoth mage who hit on Mae. Now I also have Inessa Serra, my elven Grey Warden mage. She underwent the Joining a couple of years ago, after the Circles fell and was stuck in Weisshaupt for protesting the whole 'summon demons and sacrifice people' thing until the Inquisition rescued her.

If there's room for them to have known each other before, I'm totally up for that! Otherwise, I'm all for them getting to know each other now, and Inessa's mabari having someone new to beg food from.

Name: Cole
Info Page/App: I'm working on the info page right now...
Who They Are: Cole. The Ghost of White Spire. Assassin of Lord Seeker Lambert. Abused hedge mage, powerful spirit of Compassion, almost demon, almost human and completely unique in a world of oddities. Cole is a canon companion for Dragon Age: Inquisition, a spirit who has manifested as a young man.
Where They've Been: Cole was born from the horrific death of a forgotten hedge mage in the Pit of the White Spire in Orlais. He travelled to Adamant with a small group to follow up on research by a Tranquil and was directly involved in the revolt at White Spire and subsequent assassination of Lord Seeker Lambert. Since then, he's wandered Thedas, helping people, watching the Templars and seeking to stop as much hurt as possible. He joined the Inquisition at the fall of Haven and has been coming and going ever since then.
What They Want: Cole wants to help. Stop hurt. Heal harm. Be with people with similar goals.
Plot & CR Desires: I really want to work on developing Cole as an individual, feeling out and finding ways to be individual without losing his spirit side. Developing interpersonal relationships and his ability to feel things for himself, not just others.
Anything Else: I really hate trying to do intros... Also, I need to redo his icons. It's hard to icon a guy who wears a giant, face obscuring hat and doesn't show much in the way of facial expressions.

her specialty is investigation so she would've probably been one of the people looking into the initial murders, though she was sent away on a mission shortly before the assassination attempt at the start of asunder. we can hash something out in a pp, if you'd like? i'll add ya on plurk (i'm oeste).

I think I just missed you, but we played together at The Games (I was Adella Trevelyan) so hello again!

I play Velanna here and she'll be glad(?) to see Sigrun! Nate and Anders are married now so she doesn't really have anyone to hang out with from the old days who won't start being gross and domestic so it'll be nice to have options again.

I also play Rey from Star Wars who is a rifter, and Geneviève De La Fontaine who is an Orlesian Chevalier.

additionally I made a bunch of Awakening icons in a vain attempt to lure in some more Awakening crew. They're kind of eh but if you want any Sigrun icons they're here.

!!! yes hello i remember you! i swear not all the characters i play have a questionable sense of humor, but. gestures weakly to both sigrun and hawke.

sigrun will be glad to see velanna, too. :') memories... all alone in the moonlight... awakening crew actually existing def helped lure me in again, here. they can sip martinis and tease nate and anders about being an old married couple.

oh my god tho thank you so much for the icons, i did not think awakening icons existed anywhere? least of all ones of sigrun. i will def have to use some of these!

i think it makes sense for them to at least recognize each other? from the big bad meeting with clarel about the false calling that led to sigrun being in hiding and inessa being imprisoned. the fact that inessa stood up for her beliefs and spoke out against the demon summoning would not have gone unnoticed.

so basically they go in knowing of each other but actually get the chance to get to know each other now without the threat of shady warden business ruining their lives? if that's cool with you ofc

OOHH... duly noted! she's in a bit of a weird place re: red lyrium because she wants to help after her experience, but also, what is research? what is science? fake, probably. but she'll try her best. AKA ask a bunch of questions and get frustrated when they don't have immediate actionable answers
