TDM & App Notes

Our third Test Drive Meme is up! Invite your friends. We've also added tagging characters other than Dragon Age companions/advisors on the TDM as a way to earn extra AC rewards.

As a reminder, we're now allowing third characters for those who already have two in the game. To app a third character, you must make full AC with both of your current characters in the check that closes immediately prior to applications opening. One-per-player caps on elves, mages, rifters, and Dragon Age companion/advisor characters remain in place at this time, and we are not currently accepting applications for Dalish or Tevinter characters.

Help Wanted

We're in need of a list mod! The bulk of the work will include helping us keep lists and game pages up to date, handling ATP posts, and remembering to open and close reserves and applications. We may also request input on particular apps if we're unfamiliar with a canon or need a tie-breaker.

Ideally we need someone familiar with HTML and at least a little CSS, but experience as a list mod is not required and MJ can help walk you through the existing code. (If you do have experience, you can probably walk MJ through some stuff instead.) We do most of our work in GDocs and communicate on Slack, so it would be helpful if you're comfortable with those or willing to figure it out. Slack is simple, we promise.

Our last plot update included a request for feedback on a few specific topics. We'd still like to hear from anyone who has something to say! The post is here, and our mod contact page is always open as well.

PLOT/IC UPDATES

The Month of Haring

The second portions of the ongoing Fallow Mire quests have been distributed. If you missed sign-ups or want to do two Fallow Mire quests at once, there's still room for a couple of characters to take part in the hunt for Widris. Characters who are already participating in another Fallow Mire quest can sign up for this one as a second quest by responding to the plot info post. Nahariel is also looking for assistance to recover dawn lotus!

Characters will head back to Skyhold around December/Haring 5. Many characters will promptly head back out on war table operations. At Skyhold, there will be a First Day event/mingle log posted in late December and forward-dated to Wintermarch 1. Otherwise, this should be a fairly quiet month--we don't want people busy with the holidays to get left behind. (But please note that we will require full AC for both the December 15 and January 15 checks.)

War Table Operations

War Table operations will be posted on an ongoing basis. We usually won't announce new operations, because the goal is to keep the list perpetually populated for anyone who's looking for something to do at any given time. In the future, however, we will announce the larger, longer-term operations like the two scouting missions, give them set sign-up deadlines, and choose participants by RNG if necessary.

Looking Ahead

The Inquisition's next focus will be either the Western Approach or Emprise du Lion, which will both be scouted during the month of December. One of the two will be opened for RP in January. During this month characters should hear back from the scout teams and learn what's going on in both places, to allow IC discussion and debate about where the Inquisition should focus its resources. Both regions will be reached eventually, but the order in which these two problems are dealt with will change what characters face when they arrive and affect the overarching plot.

To actually make the decision, we'll post an OOC poll later this month. The poll will ask for both the OOC preference of each player and the IC preferences of each character. The OOC component will determine which region we go to first, while the IC component may affect how we go about describing the atmosphere/attitude or justifying the Inquisition leadership's decision. The goal is to make sure we're taking into account IC priorities but ultimately doing what the playerbase finds more interesting.

IC News & Gossip

We've put up a static IC News & Gossip page for you to drop anything that could or should be public knowledge! We highly recommend tracking comments to the post (or just those comment threads that your character would be interested in). Given that people may be tracking it, please refrain from having conversations in the comments--but do post any news or gossip your heart desires!
