Do you wanna be a suitor? You don't have to be a suitor!
As per the family tradition, Comtesse Melisende LeBlanc will be sending her sole unmatched child a dossier of recommended suitors from which to choose a spouse. Details about their appearance (sometimes a sketch or small portrait is enclosed along with the write up), their background, their families, their hobbies, their pets, etc are included for Adelaide's perusal. If your character has ties (or siblings with ties) to nobility OR a politically influential group and you think it'd be fun, fill out the form below and they'll be included in the dossier! Or fill it out with a made up NPC if you like!
Aside from being included in the dossier a family attache will come to arrange and chaperon meetings between Adelaide and the included individuals- participation in this part is optional. Ideally the meetings will be happening all throughout April (Cloudreach).
Note: Comtesse recommendations must be Native as Melisende wouldn't know anything about Rifters.
Note 2: Gregoire (Adelaide's younger brother) is something of a troll and has read up on the Inquisition's members so even if your character doesn't fit the husband/noble/influential bill and you think it'd be funny? Sign up! He HAS heard about some of the rifters from Adelaide's letters and for his suggestions, they'd be included.
PORTRAIT: Optional! (must be approx 200x300 or scaleable to the same) Name: Title(s): if applicable Age: Country: Orlais, Ferelden, etc
Eye Color: Hair Color: House Colors: What colors they wear most often/family colors/family crest/etc
Blurb: As much or as little as you like, as true or as false as you like. Whatever Melisende might have heard about your character to make her feel like they'd be an advantageous match for Adelaide.
Gregoire or Melisande: Which one of them slipped this in the folder?
When the attache is present in Skyhold after several (i.e. most) of the meetings do not go as planned they will start simply pulling anyone clean and respectable looking along in vague hopes of arranging something to satisfy Comtesse Melisende. If you want to sign up for that please use the form below:
Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Reddish brown-blonde...... look it changes every installment of the canon, it's not my fault House Colors: Theirins are red, gold, and white. Alistair's into blue and grey.
Blurb: No title, no money, no land, but widely accepted to be the bastard son of King Maric Theirin. He formally abdicated in 9:31 and a royal inquiry into his birth later that year (just for good meausre) was ultimately ruled inconclusive. However, his existence was a terribly kept secret in Denerim from the start, and there are still Theirin loyalists and individuals who don't like the Queen for other reasons who would back him if he made a play. Less importantly: veteran of the Fifth Blight, handsome if you don't mind the nose, has been hanging around Orlais long enough to prove he isn't going to take after his father in the slaughtering-Orlesians department, etc. etc. etc.
PORTRAIT: Name: Callum Darrow Title(s): He's a second son, so no title to inherit. He has the courtesy title of The Honorable Callum Darrow, but prefers Serah. Age: 28 Country: Free Marches (Starkhaven)
Eye Color: Blue Hair Color: Auburn House Colors: He tends to wear black. The Darrows' house colors are burgundy and gold.
Blurb: Callum is famed for his participation in the Grand Tourney. Though he's been a part of it for several years running, he won last year and has gained greater notice for that since. Rumors of his gambling addiction are greatly exaggerated, as he hasn't put his family in the poor house yet. He's very sociable, and stands to inherit a recently built country house with a sizable piece of land for grazing animals and hunting. His career prospects are numerous, but as he mainly shows interest in swordplay, he's likely to be a leader of forces should trouble arise for Starkhaven.
Gregoire or Melisende: Gregoire, because Callum is really just a layabout rake with no job who gambles too much. Clearly a catch.
PORTRAIT: Name: Benard Humperdinck Title(s): Duke of Florin Age: 40 Country: Ferelden
Eye Color: Brown Hair Color: Brown House Colors: Purple and red.
Blurb: Duke Humperdinck acquired his position and title under curious circumstances; the original duke had no lineage to rely on, and Humperdinck showed himself to be a valuable heir. He's a fierce hunter and knows the Game not too badly for a Ferelden. Had a wife before, but she died and/or disappeared tragically. It's a little unclear, but he's totally a bachelor who's not shady at all.
PORTRAIT: Name: Aleron Robert Anguis Darton Title(s): Seeker of Truth Age: 36 Country: Free Marches: Kaiten (paternal), Orlais (maternal)
Eye Color: Ice Blue Hair Color: Blond House Colors: Darton colors: gold ram's head on field of green, Du Guille colors: silver falcon on a field of blue
Blurb: The Darton titles, a barony, in Kaiten are only three generations old. However, their holdings of Endridge produce the highest quality wool to be found in southern Thedas, and thus generates a fortune large enough to excuse the newness of the title. Aleron's sister, Ravonild, is the current Baroness.
The maternal side of the family is of Orlais, the Du Guilles of Rieumont. Aleron's mother, Marlie is set to take up the mantle of Comtesse, following some very unfortunate familial losses in the civil war. There is an aunt with a claim to the title, though it's almost certain it will be settled on Lady Marlie once the Council of Heralds stops sitting on their hands waiting to see who takes the throne. It's a well known fact that Marlie prefers her son to his twin sister, and is like to have him named her heir. It is a reasonable choice, as it's unlikely the Council of Heralds will wish to elevate someone whose heir holds titles and lands outside of Orlais and has never set foot in the country.
Aleron is a widower of 15 years. His wife was the Lady Mirielle Vauquelin. He was sent to Orlais and trained with the Seekers of Truth from the age of eight. He has been in Nevarra serving the Seekers there since his wife's passing. He's known to be a quiet, respectable man with no known vices. No pets. Hobbies include riding and reading.
PORTRAIT: [none, as he has been evading family business for several decades.] Name: Cade Harimann Title(s): Knight, Lord Age: 32 Country: the Free Marches (Kirkwall)
Eye Color: blue Hair Color: blond House Colors: light blue and silver
Blurb: Eager to move past the embarrassments laid on the family name by the other more infamous Kirkwall Harimanns, Frederick Harimann, Cade's father and cousin to the late Lord Harimann, is eager to match his younger son well. Having sent Cade off to Ferelden to be educated and trained by the Chantry as a young child, the disastrous events brought on by Johane Harimann and the Princes of Starkhaven caused him to make the difficult decision of bringing Cade back into play. This would have been easier if anyone had heard from Cade since he was a child, but having kept tabs on him through first the Templar Order's secretaries and now those of the Inquisition, Frederick learned that Cade is indeed here at Skyhold and in the perfect position to marry Adelaide. It would be an advantageous match for both of them, as the Harimanns have many resources and trade agreements at their disposal, and Cade's marriage into the Leblancs would assist them in overcoming their family's ruined reputation in the Free Marches.
How much of that actually makes it to Adelaide is your decision-- if nothing else, she'd know he's a nice Maker-fearing young man in close proximity.
PORTRAIT: Name: Ser James Lysander Norrington Title(s): Knight Commander of the Ostwick Circle. Age: 31 Country: Free Marshes, of Tantervale and Ostwick.
Eye Color: Green Hair Color: Dark brown House Colors: No house colors, but the Norringtons are a rich merchant family out of Tantervale with connections all over Thedas for the quality of their fabrics.
Blurb: James Norrington is considered a viable match because of the merchant ties of his family and the considerable wealth left to him by his parents, of which he is heir to (but has rarely touched because hey, Templars give up all wealth.) He's also of the appropriate age and has not, in fact, taken the vow of chastity!
PORTRAIT: Name: Maxwell Trevean Title(s): Lord Age: 30 Country: Free Marches, of Ostwick
Eye Color: Blue Hair Color: Brown House Colors: Dresses primary in blue and silver - family color is green and gold.
Blurb: Technically the second son, but as the first took vows, he is the heir apparent. The family is actively looking to make a match (has apparently been for some time), and thus likely willing to haggle on dowry. Set to inherit well, and the connections he's made are generally favorable (Baron Truent raves about a hunt two summers ago) - though it would mean having Lady Trevean (the dragon in jade silk) as a mother-in-law. Doesn't appear to be any magical blood in the line.
Eye Color: Grey Hair Color: Black House Colors: White and black, peacock and snake symbolism both.
Blurb: Only child and heir presumptive to the senatorial seat of Magister Halward Pavus, Dorian comes from a prestigious line of mages, prominent in the coastal Tevinter city of Qarinus since the late Exalted Age. At that time, the Imperium was recovering from a failed Exalted March and the Fourth Blight; Gideon Pavus arose as a voice of reason within the Magisterium. His block of allies convinced the Imperium not to descend upon the weakened south, to extend a hand of reconciliation to those who had once sought their destruction. That House Pavus remained standing even after Magister Gideon was tried for treason is a testament to the power he built, and an excellent example of how internecine politics in Tevinter can bring low even the brightest star. Gregoire or Melisende: Gregoire, probably, but maybe Melisande let it remain.

he's a fantastic dresser, fabulously wealthy, pious, humble, witty, dashing, brave, and generous to a fault. in fact, he treats his servants with great favor, inspiring deep loyalty to him. why, just look at his manservant, who speaks nothing but praise of him! and as if all of this weren't enough: the whispered rumor among the ladies of Casa di Quinto is that his talents of the night (as they say in the local way) are quite large and impressive as well. of this, his manservant will say nothing. it is hardly proper to ask such questions, yes? but then again, if the ladies say so, then surely it must be true... but let us not speculate, nor ogle the poor duke overmuch. he suffers so from this attention when he is at home!
all of this will be corroborated by various people in and about Skyhold, who have all heard such wonderful tales over the years. they think. memory is funny that way. but they're certain that they've heard of someone so fantastic as Duca Pecatti before, like, a week ago! (some were possibly--possibly--paid off. a very little. they won't confess it.)

Blurb: Son of a former Chantry Sister and a respected craftsman in Amaranthine. His elder brother has standing in the local government and connections in Orlais (the name Holmes may be known to minor nobility, though they do not count among them).
Sherlock himself has a reputation for not having the most agreeable personality, but also for being shrewedly intelligent. Rumors of his assistance to the Amaranthine city guard have started to circulate, the adventures involved varying widely. A life in his company would certainly not be quiet, but would have the potential to be quite thrilling.
Gregoire or Melisende: Honestly it could have been either??? Either Gregoire snuck Sherlock into the dossier as someone just "respectable" enough to make sense, or Melisende included him as a "safety" option, in case Adele can't bag an actual-facts Duke or Bastard Prince or etc.

Blurb: Olivier is the eldest, most handsome son of very esteemed merchants Augustine and Nathalie, who have done everything in their power to bring good fortune and reputation to their family name. Their merchant empire spans several countries, going well into Orlais, Ferelden, and north into the Free Marches. He is charming, graceful, and chivalrous, not to mention handsome.

He also mentioned to the Baroness about being a knight of some sort where he's from, which is a totally respectable thing. He's gotten a reputation for being a skilled warrior, and for frequently sulking dramatically on battlements (but we all know that men do this so they can get the ladies). His hair is stunning, and if nothing else, perhaps he can be consulted for haircare tips.
Gregoire or Melisende: Gregoire! He heard about Kain as a piece of gossip from the Baroness Marie-Delphine Comeaux (who had a little fling of her own w/Kain at the soiree), so he figured why not toss him into the mix?

Clean: Y, amazingly enough.

Name: Sherlock Holmes
Title(s): n/a
Age: 33 (eta: I can math)
Country: Ferelden
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Black
House Colors: His family isn't fancy-pants enough for a crest or colors, but Sherlock favors blue and grey.

Name: Kain Highwind
Title(s): Kain the Dragonslayer
What it's totally a titleAge: 21
Country: Rifter
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color: Blond
House Colors: Wears dark blue armor with a distinct draconic appearance, dragons seem to be his personal symbol.
Blurb: This man has legs! You will not be disappointed by how strong those legs of his are, and the many things he can do with them. Superb at lance-handling if you know what I mean.
