PLOT POST & SIGN UP: LELIANA WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
HELLO FRIENDS.
Some of you may have noticed that Leliana has been becoming increasingly more vocal regarding rights and freedom for elves and mages. It's great! It's awesome. It's... really made a group of Chantry extremeists angry.
The resulting plot will be based in Skyhold, with two missions with sign up opportunities.
On 22nd June an assassination attempt will be made against the Left Hand, and it will almost succeed.
Here is the basic rundown:
A strike is made against Leliana for her vocal stance on freedom for elves, mages and rifters. The attack is also tied into her part of the Inquisition opting to spare Anders, rumours of her ties to that terrible bloodmage controlling Celene’s mind following the soiree (hi Morrigan), and her influence and power within that gross heretical Inquisition.
Two workers within the Inquisition have secret ties to an extremist group within the Chantry called The Thorns of the Rose, who see themselves as guardians of the true faith. They attempt to assassinate her via poisoning (Josephine gets to find her, sorry Josie), leaving a message painted in the main hall (or posted on a bunch of message things) of Skyhold. This message will decry the Left Hand's blind support of the demons coming through the rift, as well as mages and elves, and her ignoring the dangers they pose to Thedas. The message will criticise her failing to locate Anders within the Inquisition sooner, and the Advisor decision to keep him alive, and generally just be pretty terrible. (It’ll also take the form of really overwrought poetry, which will also ultimately be a clue as to who was behind all this.)
The poison itself is very rare and has a history, of sorts, that Dorian will be able to enlighten us all on, because he is a special and magical man despite his cruel glittery inclinations.
SO, WHAT IS THERE TO DO?
- deduce the thing; part of this is linked with Dorian and Josephine, but is also very open to involvement and stuff! If you'd like your character to help and Do Things then I will gleefully try to think of things that can be discovered and make things more interesting and nuanced.
- MISSION ONE: the traitors flee Skyhold and need to be retrieved and brought back for judgment
- MISSION TWO: some rare and hard to get hold of plants need to be found in the Braecilian Forest for the antidote
- possible discussion and THINGS in Skyhold, and exploration of wider themes relating to the Chantry and stuff???
- idk get chased out of Leliana's room by Morrigan
- I'm open to ideas, honestly
CONSEQUENCES AND STUFF.
Ultimately my goal is that the two traitors will be spared, and this whole thing will help pull Leliana back in a softened direction. However!!! Naturally there are other things to consider and I have a few ideas, but yeah let's have fun with it and stuff.
Leliana will need some recovery time so this will also involve her learning to get help and trust people and not be a cactus of cold fury at all hours.
ANYWAY, CONSEQUENCES ARE BORING, LET'S TALK MORE ABOUT MISSIONS.
Naturally Leliana won't be on either of these missions, although I will be NPCing like a chaammpppp.
MISSION ONE: CATCH THE TRAITORS, CONFRONT THE THORNS OF THE ROSE
A cross country adventure to a little town of little consequence between Montsimmard and the Dales, which is the home of the Thorns. I don't want to give away too much, but religious zealots and elaborate gardens, hurrah. Orlais!!! ps. if you see any cute brown nugs bring one back for Leliana pls & thank.
MISSION TWO: LET'S GO ON A PICNIC TO THE FOREST WITH RHYMING TREES NO WHY
Who doesn't want to traipse around in a creepy forest with creepy ruins and also find plants and put up with Dorian complaining about the wilderness?
Any members of Team Fifth Blight: Why Are We Stuck With This Bard edition get an auto-inclusion in either of the missions, should they wish for it. With th.at said, there are five slots open to other people for each mission, although if there are a lot of people wanting to be involved then I can see about trying to increase numbers. Selections with be RNG and sign ups will be in the comments belooowwww

Character: Bruce Banner >_>
Mission preference? Two!! but he can be in one if they need a mount lolol. He also can be part of DEDUCE THE THING if necessary
Skillsets: HEALING THINGS. SURGEON THINGS. also magic I guess :U
On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? 7.5 x 100
no subject
Character: Christine Delacroix
Mission preference? 2
Skillsets: Spirit Healer, mage, judger of bad sylvan rhyming
On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? Literally like a five but I will pretend it's a ten if it gets her on this mission. :D
no subject
Character: Andra
Mission preference? 1
Skillsets: stabby with the knives, Bard, handy with disguises, sneaky elf.
On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? Like 8? She thinks they're cute but isn't above eating them if there isn't anything else around. Not that she'd say that to Leliana.
no subject
Character: Maria Hill
Mission preference? 1
Skillsets: Templar Minion
On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? You can't force her to love nugs, Leliana. She has free will
no subject
Character: Sherlock Holmes
Mission preference? Either! Sherlock is good for stabby infiltrations but also for poison and plants, so he could have a role in either place.
Skillsets: I heard the word 'deduce' and came running. I also heard the word 'Orlais' and Sherlock rolled his eyes so this should be fun. Arrows, daggers, and alchemical skills as needed.
On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? 6, the leather is real nice tbh and the meat is fine in a pinch :P
no subject
Character: Eirlys Ancarrow
Mission preference? 2
Skillsets: Eirlys is a healer with a particular speciality in herbs and plants, so this is right up her street. She will also feel she has a personal stake here seeing as the only reason she came back to the Inquisition at all is for elf freedom.
On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? 10 and a half
no subject
Character: Alistair
Mission preference? Slight preference for 2 but happy to do 1 instead if that balances things out better.
Skillsets: Warden/Templar, familiar with Brecilian Forest for 2, cares about Leliana a whole lot even if they are still mad at each other so will stomp things extra hard on her behalf.
On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? 5

Character: Pel Ashara
Mission preference? One
Skillsets: Can shapeshift into a wolf or an owl by the time of this event, thereby able to run down traitors if they try to escape (thanks to wolf's nose and owl's hearing) and make them bleed/hold them in place with teeth while other people catch up.
On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? 7. Pretty tasty.
no subject
Character: Samouel Gareth
Mission preference? 1 or 2! Either one!
Skillsets:Spirit Healer (he can heal and do barriers, good stuff), Shapeshifter (dogs are good at tracking, even if he is still learning that, and phoenixes are scary man), obviously magic
On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? 5, he doesn't really spend a lot of time with them sorry

This form is for injuries for my npc and randomising purposes, but also some info on your character and their skills to help with brainstorming. Injury form shamelessly stolen from Jackie and Tori :'DDDD

Player: Megan
Character: Christine Delacroix
Skills: She's a Spirit Healer, so she can tend to people on this mission. In the interest of letting characters get hurt as much as players' want, I'm happy to say the healing takes awhile to do and if they're in the middle of a fight, she can only do so much. ALSO: if you want your character to be badly hurt, but bounce back quickly, then come to me, my child, and I shall embrace you. Ahem, I mean Chris will heal you right up! Her combat skills aren't great, but she excels at barriers and usually employs spells from DA: O.
Requests: Always up for Chris talking shit on Ferelden and then immediately realizing it's not all bad. Though it may get bad with whatever they find on this mission! Making her do something ridiculous would be fun too, because we all know the Brecilian Forest is wacky fun.

Player: Ronen
Character: Sherlock Holmes
Skills: Detective-ing, infiltration, grenades/arrows/daggers
Requests: UUUH I'm just excited for spy-type shenanigans involving masks. Please make Sherlock wear a mask and talk to Orlesians, he'll do it for the mission but he's going to hate it

Character: Alistair
Skills: Templaring (magic-annulling, Veil-strengthening, demon-smiting stuff), Wardening, locating traps with his feet or face, carrying Sina piggyback if she needs it, being genre savvy about the creepy haunted forest, swording things.

Player: Cami
Character: Sina
Skills: Fairly legit herbalism knowledge, especially in a forest setting. Also excellent with research and whatnot, but her knowledge of various flora and their uses should be enough explanation as to why she's here. Also decent at healing.
Requests: Not so much a request as a reminder that Sina will have to be kept away from rifts. They won't necessarily kill her unless her shard decides it's time to close it, but the burst of energy from it would pretty much make her crumple/scream/faint etc depending on severity. She is taking a huge risk leaving Skyhold.

ParisVal Royeaux thanks to canon, leadership and strategy. Honestly he's been wandering around fighting random injustices he comes across throughout Thedas for the better part of five years. He has a v random skillset.Requests: Forcing him to display his skills borne of growing up within The Game would be hilarious. Especially if he then at some point gets to be all stabbity with some swordage. yo yo
