PLOT POST & SIGN UP: LELIANA WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
HELLO FRIENDS.
Some of you may have noticed that Leliana has been becoming increasingly more vocal regarding rights and freedom for elves and mages. It's great! It's awesome. It's... really made a group of Chantry extremeists angry.
The resulting plot will be based in Skyhold, with two missions with sign up opportunities.
On 22nd June an assassination attempt will be made against the Left Hand, and it will almost succeed.
Here is the basic rundown:
A strike is made against Leliana for her vocal stance on freedom for elves, mages and rifters. The attack is also tied into her part of the Inquisition opting to spare Anders, rumours of her ties to that terrible bloodmage controlling Celene’s mind following the soiree (hi Morrigan), and her influence and power within that gross heretical Inquisition.
Two workers within the Inquisition have secret ties to an extremist group within the Chantry called The Thorns of the Rose, who see themselves as guardians of the true faith. They attempt to assassinate her via poisoning (Josephine gets to find her, sorry Josie), leaving a message painted in the main hall (or posted on a bunch of message things) of Skyhold. This message will decry the Left Hand's blind support of the demons coming through the rift, as well as mages and elves, and her ignoring the dangers they pose to Thedas. The message will criticise her failing to locate Anders within the Inquisition sooner, and the Advisor decision to keep him alive, and generally just be pretty terrible. (It’ll also take the form of really overwrought poetry, which will also ultimately be a clue as to who was behind all this.)
The poison itself is very rare and has a history, of sorts, that Dorian will be able to enlighten us all on, because he is a special and magical man despite his cruel glittery inclinations.
SO, WHAT IS THERE TO DO?
- deduce the thing; part of this is linked with Dorian and Josephine, but is also very open to involvement and stuff! If you'd like your character to help and Do Things then I will gleefully try to think of things that can be discovered and make things more interesting and nuanced.
- MISSION ONE: the traitors flee Skyhold and need to be retrieved and brought back for judgment
- MISSION TWO: some rare and hard to get hold of plants need to be found in the Braecilian Forest for the antidote
- possible discussion and THINGS in Skyhold, and exploration of wider themes relating to the Chantry and stuff???
- idk get chased out of Leliana's room by Morrigan
- I'm open to ideas, honestly
CONSEQUENCES AND STUFF.
Ultimately my goal is that the two traitors will be spared, and this whole thing will help pull Leliana back in a softened direction. However!!! Naturally there are other things to consider and I have a few ideas, but yeah let's have fun with it and stuff.
Leliana will need some recovery time so this will also involve her learning to get help and trust people and not be a cactus of cold fury at all hours.
ANYWAY, CONSEQUENCES ARE BORING, LET'S TALK MORE ABOUT MISSIONS.
Naturally Leliana won't be on either of these missions, although I will be NPCing like a chaammpppp.
MISSION ONE: CATCH THE TRAITORS, CONFRONT THE THORNS OF THE ROSE
A cross country adventure to a little town of little consequence between Montsimmard and the Dales, which is the home of the Thorns. I don't want to give away too much, but religious zealots and elaborate gardens, hurrah. Orlais!!! ps. if you see any cute brown nugs bring one back for Leliana pls & thank.
MISSION TWO: LET'S GO ON A PICNIC TO THE FOREST WITH RHYMING TREES NO WHY
Who doesn't want to traipse around in a creepy forest with creepy ruins and also find plants and put up with Dorian complaining about the wilderness?
Any members of Team Fifth Blight: Why Are We Stuck With This Bard edition get an auto-inclusion in either of the missions, should they wish for it. With th.at said, there are five slots open to other people for each mission, although if there are a lot of people wanting to be involved then I can see about trying to increase numbers. Selections with be RNG and sign ups will be in the comments belooowwww

Character: Athos
Mission preference? Either, but. He'd be more helpful on the first one.
Skillsets: Orlesian. In case you need more, he's v martially skilled, a standing member of CSI:
ParisVal Royeaux, and moreover at this point could probably do with a nice bit of violence. On a scale of 1-10 how great do they think nugs are? Oh they're great, very useful things. He loves mugs. Oh, wait did you say nugs? He doesn't have any particularly strong feelings about rodents.
