Hello, fellow players of new rifters!

I've been trying to add some folks on plurk, but I am also hopelessly disorganised, so in case you aren't on there or I don't have you added, I thought I'd share a discussion thread that's come up with a bunch of the rifters chatting about some stuff.

Some cool ideas have also come up in the thread, so it could be a nice springboard for some group threading of particular efforts, if folks are interested.

I'll just post some of the rough topic ideas in the comments, and then if people are particularly interested in threading and/or discussing and handwaving stuff, maybe we can do some things.

(I'm also on plurk at karmacharging, feel free to add me.)

So I think I'll be throwing Kylo at this one I mean it may not be eventful compared to exploring but yeah. Still would be fun conversation while gathering stuff to make smoke signals and such.

As a note, we need to remember the mod note indicating that we need to oocly make sure the characters aren't able to stray too far away from the campsite, otherwise the Inquisition won't be able to find them. So perhaps we can have a party try to go out and get set back by a blizzard, or some people can fall into an ice cave and have to get out?

six would be a good nomination for this i think!! she's hardy and has good survival skills, plus she can see in the dark. she'd be glad to go out and venture to see if they can find anything as a group C:

BUT NO in all seriousness Helena might be good for this - she will be very concerned with keeping an eye on Sarah, but if Sarah ends up elsewhere I think in the interests of keeping Sarah safe by securing supplies/people/etc I can justify Helena being wherever. Her skills are... being... Helena...

Aro is down for this too! He suggested burning bodies, but when it comes down to it he's an experienced traveller and he's better at walking and searching than carrying things around. Also, his dragon Iessa can fly, which might help them to scout a little bit!

I feel like Newt would be up for this? He's traveled a lot in his time, so he would want to help with searching and gathering supplies. And one way to slow the group down would be if he uses his magic - it drains his energy. But I also would be up for a surprise blizzard or people falling into ice caves as a means of preventing them from going too far.

Iorveth is definitely going to take his chicken mount and go scouting out as far as he can in each direction, probably using sticks or arrows or something to stick in the snow to find his way back. I was thinking I'd either say he runs into a storm or a yeti or something that stops him going too far, or just explores all the wrong directions to go in, lol.

He's probably not going to openly invite people to come along, because he's an anti-social little jerk, but it'll be clear what he's getting ready to do while he's packing up the chicken mount, so I'd be down for assuming he'd be fine with anyone who voiced an interest in tagging along :D

healing / injuries

Alexandra is here to help with non-magical medical skills! Also to shout internally about everything, maybe also externally.

ETA most specifically she is a veterinarian so LET HER TREAT THE ANIMALS animals are better than people

Chance has healing magic! So he can help heal up minor wounds quickly, and he can also encourage moderate wounds to heal a bit faster. But he can't heal anything too severe, and he has no skill with healing beyond magic.

perhaps teaming up to fix up any wounds and/or just discussing what they can try to use for injuries in case of emergencies, if that would appeal?

yeah for sure! even just chatting, maybe learning some actual non-magical bandaging too?
