Player Faction: Beacon of Hope
Have you been wanting more mage shenanigans? Do you want your character to help mages out more? Would you like some revolution in your life?
If you answered yes to any of those, I have good news for you! If you’re somehow Meredith Stannard, however, you can probably skip reading this post.
With mod permission, I’ve created a mage faction - Beacon of Hope. Anders’ network, found here, is sending in reports, and I’ll have about 2 missions a month running to help mages in different ways, along with a task. Anders is the official head of the faction, with Vandelin as his second, but positive CR with Anders isn’t required to participate. Anyone is welcome to join in.
Missions will have a contact point (one of the network) who will generally start off each mission and I’ll NPC them to help keep things going/provide plot points, but teams signing up will be free to improvise off the information they’re given. Teams will generally have at least one mage each since these are mage-interest missions, but beyond that they won’t be restricted. Any character who wants to help will be welcome. After the mission is complete, or at the end of the month/when the end result is determined, one character from the team can either write a short report on what happened and post it to the faction page (coming soon, I’ll edit with a link when it’s up,) or use Anders’ inbox to tell him what happened and I’ll write up how he’d summarize what info is given him.
Characters do not have to like Anders or be liked by Anders to participate. They simply need to be good at what they do; he’s not gonna be picky when it comes to using resources to help his people.
If you’d like to suggest a mission, or run one through the faction (since Inquisition mage missions can’t be led by non-Loyalist mages anymore) you’re welcome to hit me up on Discord at Nadat#4647. All missions still need to be mod-approved before they can go forward and since Anders is loosely running this I do want to make sure the premise of the mission fits the faction before it’s associated with Anders and the network.
There is an option to join the faction instead of just running missions for it, but no one has to join to help out. Joining won’t have any OOC implication at this time, there won’t be priority given to them for missions, but ICly it will have meaning for Anders. The names of those who join will not be published or spread by him; it will be up to any joined characters whether they want to publicize it or not.
FINALLY, beyond this post being a place for questions or comments, I have two missions that are available for July to break this group in.
Where’s Waldon?: An older couple has requested help finding their son, a mage. They know he survived the Circles, they have a letter from him just after he'd escaped the White Spire slaughter, but they haven't heard from him since. Contact point: Kian Price, 3-4 people
Lost: An anonymous report has come in that several children of mages who were housed in Ferelden went missing recently, the dorm they lived in burned to the ground with the guards slaughtered. Contact point: Siobhan Breathnach, 3-4 people
Task: Teach A Skill - Teach any mage a skill. Fishing, sewing, swimming, creative uses of magic, the possibilities are endless.

Re: Sign up for Missions
Mage or not? Not
Mission wanted: I would literally like to be involved in any of these unless you have mages who sign up instead. Cyril would also always step back from missions if a mage wanted to do it because he's very pro the idea of mages proving that they can hold their own and do good things.
Relevant Skills: Cy knows how to make traps, he knows survival tips and tricks, he can teach archery, and he knows how to make lotions and oils and such? He would literally be willing to teach mages any skills he has that Anders thinks is useful. They would probably have some conversations about ways Cy can contribute.
Task? Y
Your second-favorite color: Deep Purple
Any additional notes: Anders probably knows that Cy is way too excited about this idea. He is happy to have something that he can do to show his support for mages.

Mage or not? Nope
Mission wanted: Any
Relevant Skills: Archery. Fighting. Scounting/recon. Minor acrobatic skills. A living ray of sunshine
Task? Y?
Your second-favorite color: Forest green
Any additional notes: For now, Prompto won't sign up officially because it's sort of something he'd have to run by Saoirse. But he's down to at least help out however and whenever he can!

Mage or not? Ye
Mission wanted: Where's Waldon and teaching
Relevant Skills: He has a decent amount of survival experience, having spent plenty of time after running from Kirkwall living in the woods like a forest hobo. He's also apparently an amazing swimmer?? Oh and he's good at murdering everything.
Task? Y, probably like swimming or fishing or something.
Your second-favorite color: Lime green
Any additional notes: He probably won't murder anyone for this.
