We try to leave that open-ended! Players can say their character volunteered, that they were chosen by Skyhold for a position they didn’t really want, that they were recommended by a superior or that they’re being forced on a superior who doesn’t like them by that superior’s superior—whatever makes sense for the involved characters and is fun for you. So if Salvio’s player wants to say he chose her, that’s fine with us.
