Player Plot: Simple Gifts (Sign Ups)
WHAT: A group of Inquisition members are invited to travel to a remote Abbey on an island off the coast of Ferelden. The island is not wealthy, nor extremely populous; it is a rough, unpleasant place that is cold and at the mercy of the sea. Their correspondence, however, is curiously upbeat and strangely positive. They have decided, almost to a man, to send all the wealth they can to the Inquisition. Their letter, which accompanied the gold, was very appreciative of the Inquisition's good works and had an abnormal amount of praise for Rifters, specifically.
The people of the Abbey are good Andrastian folk who just want to meet the good people of the Inquisition. Unfortunately, the islands around the Abbey are dangerous, littered with bandits and pirates, and the waters that surround the island are a well-known hazard. It is a risky invitation to accept, but also a strangely enthusiastic gesture. Why this Abbey has sent all of their material wealth to the Inquisition is a mystery, but their overture deserves some response, even if it is only a visit.
WHERE: An island off the coast of Ferelden, the Abbey on the White Cliffs.
WHEN: September 4th.
WHO: Galadriel, Thranduil, and up to 10 others.
EXTRA INFO: This plot will be steeped in mysterious cult things, spooky scary nonsense, and (probably) horrible violence. To exacerbate these features I will be adjusting minor details of the plot and how I GM it based on which characters sign up. As such, this sign up form is a bit long.
Sign ups will be active until 8/31, but the sooner you sign up the better and the easier it is on me.
If you have any questions please ask in the thread below!

No, me, you do not need to have CR with Galadriel to sign up for this plot. That is 100% not required in any way.
However! If you would like CR with Galadriel as an excuse to be in this plot, HMU here, PM me, or hit me on

Are they a Mage/Templar/Rifter? Rifter
Are they Andrastian? No
Proficiency: Athletics/Acrobatics
Additional Skill: Murderating people real good. More seriously, Nuada's a skilled craftsman, from smithing to delicate clockworks. He has steady hands and clarity of focus.
Do any of the following bother you, personally, as a player: Nyet
Is there something that does bother you, personally, as a player that I should avoid? Where it can be, I would prefer any violence involving animals to be described in as vague terms as possible.
Are you alright with your character potentially being injured?: Yes
What extent of injury are you alright with?: Surprise me!
Is your character physically or morally corrupted: Iiiiin the sense that he wants to commit human genocide, yes? Nothing supernatural or metaphysical to it, he just has a Bad Life Goal.
Can your character swim?: Yes
Anything else: Nuada was born with a link to his twin sister Nuala which, of course, has been severed in Thedas, and the absence of which he feels as keenly as if he had a lost a limb. They each knew what the other knew, felt what the other felt, and were injured when the other was injured. Directly prior to rifting through, Nuada died of a stab wound Nuala inflicted on herself in order to stab him. Use that however you will!

Are they a Mage/Templar/Rifter? Rifter
Are they Andrastian? No
Proficiency: Choose only one from the following list. Your choice will determine what tasks and attempts your character will automatically succeed at (or will succeed as much as possible at), it will also determine what clues and information are given to your character specifically. The skills are borrowed from Dungeons and Dragons but they are only a vague guideline. Each one will encompass everything related to the skill selected. Athletics/Acrobatics, for instance, will relate to all feats of physical prowess. Arcana can be either knowledge of magic or the ability to sense magical fields or inherent wrongness that is caused by magic. Persuasion/Deception will effect all conversation and, if the character goes this route, would include attempts at Intimidation.
Choose one: Insight/Perception
Additional Skill: The Force™

Is there something that does bother you, personally, as a player that I should avoid? I can't think of anything at the moment
Are you alright with your character potentially being injured?: Yes
What extent of injury are you alright with?: I would want to discuss beforehand any injury more debilitating than a sprain, but I am open to anything short of lethality
Is your character physically or morally corrupted: No, unless you consider the Light Side to be a form of corruption.
Can your character swim?: Yes
Anything else: Obi-Wan is deeply traumatized by the loss of his Order, and his former life as a Jedi, as well as that of his former student Anakin Skywalker. But he's coping pretty well for someone who has repeatedly lost everyone he loves in the most dramatic and cruel way possible. And, he has a laser sword.

Are they a Mage/Templar/Rifter? mage
Are they Andrastian? devoutly
Proficiency: Persuasion
Additional Skill: Religion
Do any of the following bother you, personally, as a player: all are fine
Is there something that does bother you, personally, as a player that I should avoid? Probably gruesome stuff happening to animals
Are you alright with your character potentially being injured?: Yes
What extent of injury are you alright with?: "serious" bordering on "surprise me." I'd rather she not suffer something permanently debilitating (like a lost limb) that impacts her mobility or ability in combat, and no heavy scaring or disfiguring injury to her face. If in doubt maybe just run a thing past me :]b
Is your character physically or morally corrupted: nope nope nope
Can your character swim?: yes
Anything else: Has a connection with an Honour Spirit (from her custom spec), complicated history with Circles (was in Starkhaven and the White Spire). There's a few more ideas I could toss together, maybe

Are they a Mage/Templar/Rifter? Rifter
Are they Andrastian? No, Firmly Hindu.
Proficiency: Stealth.
Additional Skill: Once, she rode a horse off a fortress, I presume as she flipped the bird at the British as she did so. She's an expert horsewoman and can do all these fancy tricks with her swords n junk.
Do any of the following bother you, personally, as a player: Nah.
Is there something that does bother you, personally, as a player that I should avoid? Naaah.
Are you alright with your character potentially being injured?: Yep! Here tho: Lakshmi will heal all minor wounds in seconds, serious ones take longer but it takes longer for her to die.
What extent of injury are you alright with?: All but killing her is good, and incredibly likely. She's not yet realised she can just walk off everything short of a shot to the head, and half of her fighting style is like 'oh, well I guess you can stab me, let me just be real extra about it'. So go to town.
Is your character physically or morally corrupted: Nope!
Can your character swim?: Yep!
Anything else: Lakshmi's life is a long series of losing things but fighting on anyway. She's lost her husband, children, position, homeland, she's been humiliated and mocked and forced to beg, and she's done some pretty horrific things in return, which she feels no guilt for and refuses to look back just about ever.
... and she's deeply paranoid about silence. There is always a monster in it. She's like. 70% sure. Let her just go check she just needs to see -

Are you alright with your character potentially being injured?: Yes
What extent of injury are you alright with?: Let's say "considerable"!
Is your character physically or morally corrupted: Nope!
Can your character swim?: No :(
Anything else: Kitty's greatest phobia is socioeconomic oppression of the under-classes. Second-greatest is like uh werewolves, I think? Also her greatest dream is to start the Revolution. She also has a very positive disposition towards spirits and isn't especially afraid of demons, more curious about them. Also don't be fooled by the fact that she's cute and optimistic, she is 1000% prepared to murder some cultists if necessary.

Are they a Mage/Templar/Rifter? Rifter
Are they Andrastian? No
Proficiency: Persuasion/Deception
Additional Skill: Shard Knowledge (in that he's taken a keen interest into Rifter-y things and, while he doesn't possess all the skills involved with shards himself, he's usually at the forefront of tests and new information about how the shards work in this world, how they impact the people that have them, how they react to other magic, how to use them, etc)

Are you alright with your character potentially being injured?: Yes
What extent of injury are you alright with?: Serious (Broken bones, wounds that require treatment)
Is your character physically or morally corrupted: No
Can your character swim?: Yes (thanks, Korrin!)
Anything else: Church's entire fucked up history that he's told all of...two people (one of which is no longer here) gives him a whole set of Issues that he hasn't sorted out yet because haha what is therapy--stuff like isolation, depersonalization, just his whole general emotional vulnerability and inability to properly regulate said emotions, a profound subconscious guilt complex with regard to losing people, and, just, hoo boy he's got him some issues that he doesn't talk about because he's 150% sure if the details became general knowledge there would be pitchforks and torches and he'd be bereft of his head. Y'know. In case any of that becomes relevant.
Also he can't aim projectiles for shit in a manner that is almost (but is not actually) supernatural, has an interest in ghosts (not Spirits as Thedas has them but ghost-ghosts), and is generally an irreverent and chill dude expect when his blue team leadership and planning skills come into play or when he rages at the pitch of a dog whistle. And is extremely protective of Rifters and their rights. Natch.

Is your character physically or morally corrupted: no
Can your character swim?: sort of? She's been learning so she can keep herself afloat, now.
Anything else: Rey has the whole force link with Kylo, so there's a lot of mental give and take between them at any given time. She's also recently been psychically tortured by Snoke and still has nightmares about that, and then there's that whole grew up alone was sold by her family for some money for them to get smashed with, etc.

Additional Skill: The Force™
Do any of the following bother you, personally, as a player: Nope I'm pretty okay with it. I've played in horror settings in the past.
Is there something that does bother you, personally, as a player that I should avoid? The only hard no i have is the involvement of surgical tools which we don't have to worry about in FR anyway really.
Are you alright with your character potentially being injured?: Sure
What extent of injury are you alright with?: No death and no limb loss otherwise all else is cool. Stab him if you want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is your character physically or morally corrupted: He is very morally gray compared to Rey and Obi-wan but I wouldn't say corrupted entirely. Maybe a bit.
Can your character swim?: Yes
Anything else: Kylo grew up a pampered little prince in the material sense but his parent's careers left him vulnerable to the Dark Side of the force. He had a target on his back from a young age by his future mentor, Snoke, and carries guilt for the murder of his father and betraying his family by turning to the Dark Side. He can be volatile but it has tempered somewhat with help from Rey. Their bond within the Force is a mental link that binds them together. As Varis said in Rey's submission there is a lot of mental give and take between them at any time. The bond also allowed her to "download" some of his innate abilities as a Force user.

Anything else: Myr is Very Andrastian but also Very Not Orthodox, especially when it comes to mages, because damn it, magic is the Maker's gift what are you people doing (also quit oppressing elves we were Her champions). Similarly he's been noodling with Araceli about what rifters might be & has come to the tentative conclusion that they're how the Maker plans to redeem spirits into His service.

Anything else: After years and years of fighting pretty much any perceived injustice and doing her share of backstabbing/murdering/lying, Teren is of the mind that she is both intrinsically unlovable and beyond redemption. She wants to believe in higher powers or some goodness in the universe, which is why she keeps trying, but she perceives herself as basically an agent of change and of no particular worth as a person.

Anything else: Marcoulf is a short-sighted romantic in pragmatist's clothing. He believes very sincerely in social hierarchy norms and is genuinely very supportive of Thedas flavored class warfare despite being on the losing side of it. Bad at questioning the status quo and affable enough about killing people it says would be better off dead. Creeped out by spirits and the concept of ghosts as any sensible persom in Thedas should be, obviously.
