MOD POST ↠ SEPTEMBER UPDATES
MOD ANNOUNCEMENTS: SEPTEMBER
ORGANIZATIONAL/OOC UPDATES
Upcoming OOC dates:
Our Calendar is now mostly accurate. Please make sure you add any player plots with plot impact/wide relevance to it, as well, so everyone knows when stuff happened. The Game Updates post has also been updated! You might notice that it's missing IC news updates. This is because we've decided to start forcing a PC to read IC news via crystal, to allow people to react or ask questions. That will be up in a few days!
AC Requirement Changes
Starting this month, all rifters (both canon characters and original) will be required to submit one full AC proof (5 log or 10 network comments, or an open post), as described in the AC rules.
The reason for this change is that we've always required characters that occupy limited slots—canon characters others then can't app, those with IC leadership roles, etc.—to submit at least one full proof per month, and with the institution of rifter cast caps and an overall rifter cap, even original rifter characters are now occupying a limited slot. This is a slightly belated correction to make sure we continue to apply that general rule.
AC Reward Changes
Effective immediately, the griffon rider AC reward will no longer count as a specialization (and thus won't be counted against the three-specs-per-character cap), and will cost fewer points. We've also reduced the cost of anchor abilities. Please see the Rewards page for details. We've also added some new Unique Finds—thanks in particular to K2 and Isana for suggesting several of the new items.
These cost reductions will apply retroactively. If you want a refund of the extra points you spent buying the griffon rider ability or anchor abilities in the past, you can find your AC reward request on the page—they should all be there, just screened!—and reply to it to let us know you're taking some of those points back, then link that reply in your next AC comment when you update your point total. (And since you can no longer see it on the page: griffon riding used to cost 80 points unless it was your first specialization, while anchor abilities cost 70 points for people with no other special abilities and 100 for people who already had magic or special abilities.)
We're also introducing a new AC reward: the ability to buy an additional character slot, thus allowing a player to have five full PCs instead of four. We're going to start with only allowing one additional slot per player and see how that goes before considering expanding it. All per-player and game caps still apply, i.e. buying this extra slot doesn't let you exceed the two elves per player cap, or the two rifters per player cap, etc.
Griffons!
Part of the reason for the change to the griffon rider spec is that we're about to have even more griffons available! Although they have been incredibly secretive about it for the last couple months, Burp and Flea have hatched a total of eleven baby griffons, who they have finally allowed people near enough to see, count, and possibly play with. They're currently about the size of corgis and unable to fly except in short, clumsy, experimental bursts.
They really should've been born a couple months ago but we kept not having time to handle it, so please wave your hands and pretend it makes sense that nobody's learning this until now.
Naming them will be handled IC, and soon. In the meantime, their personalities have been written up here, with huge thanks to Cee for once again making them all up for us.
IC UPDATES
Minrathous & the Archon
The prisoners left behind in Tevinter are being rescued in this log, so if your character is either a captive or on one of the two rescue teams, make sure you participate! Those characters can start RPing their return to the Gallows in a few days—just try to give this log some time to progress first so everyone knows what happened before you jump ahead with the aftermath.
Meanwhile, the Archon is being house in comfort but under guard in the uppermost suites of the Templar Tower for the time being. His presence in Kirkwall is a secret, and while most in the Inquisition are aware, they are under strict orders not to let that information leave the Gallows, since it could not only draw assassins, but also open the Inquisition up to scrutiny from other nations that it's not ready to deal with yet. He is not currently available to chat, but if your character has a need for some specific information from the Archon for plot reasons, you can say so in your Plot Request and we may be able to arrange for them to get it.
The Next Mod Plot
We're entering the first month of our new three-month plot cycle, which means we'll be in touch with Division Head and Project Leader players soon to provide some plot-relevant information their characters might acquire in the next few weeks through their positions, suggestions for assignments, etc. Everyone else should be on the lookout for assignments posted later this month! Where we're headed next will be revealed IC via IC info and assignments, and announced OOC for everyone in October.
Project Change
The scope of the Northern Powers project has always been broad, but with the war against Corypheus heating up, it's grown too big for a single project. So Northern Powers will be renamed Hostile Powers, and its scope will be narrowed to focusing on the nations that are openly aligned against the Inquisition: currently the Anderfels and Tevinter. This doesn't mean we're no longer interested in the rest of the north! We absolutely are, but plots related to Nevarra, Antiva, Rivain, and the rest of the Marches will just be independently funneled through the Divisions going forward instead of all crammed into this one project.
The IC leadership of the project and so on will remain the same, but characters who are less interested or less well suited to the project with that narrower scope are welcome to move to other projects, no hard feelings. (As a reminder, project membership is always flexible! As long as you're not bouncing around constantly trying to do everything, characters are always allowed to change projects if something proves to be a better fit.)
IC Leadership Apps & Changes
Applications for unoccupied leadership slots are due by the end of this month. You can find a list of available spots, plus the applications themselves and other relevant information, on this page.

A, what size/type of ship is it? Like Flint's ship is a galleon, etc etc. Or, I guess, what's the closest comparison to ships I can read about on wiki? :'D
B, i know we were joking a lot about Vane wanting to claim the venatori ship (because he does want to, oops) so he could have something to captain (bc he's assmad about his own being sent off, etc etc) - i'm assuming the venatori ship would be property of the inquisition, probably, since it was an inquisition mission. would they let vane be default captain for it, or general steward of that one? or is that just up to araceli?

B, The ship would remain Inquisition property! Who was in charge of its day to day stewardship/default captaincy would be up to Araceli, and if the person generally captaining it for the Inquisition were unavailable for a mission that required use of it then the ship would be used without them if necessary.
