OCTOBER PLOT DISCUSSION

Because we have a lot of assignments and player plots about to start rolling, this post is here for any miscellaneous plot discussion that needs to take place on the OOC comm. You're still welcome to corral everyone to discuss things on Plurk, Discord, or whatever else! But since not all of our players are available on all of those services, and some conversations are better held in a more organized way, you can also post your own-top level comment for a given assignment/plot here and use that for organization and discussion.

If you post a top-level comment, make sure you indicate in the subject line whether the discussion is CLOSED (e.g., for an assignment with a chosen team) or OPEN (e.g., brainstorming for something new that anyone is welcome to jump in on).

I would definitely be interested, but after I posted I saw that MJ and Abby are thinking they are too busy SO what I might do is leave it this time and maybe we can do a Clarke, Wysteria, Alex and Cosima adventure in the future, because what a rifter powerhouse combo.

if gareth comes, doing this magically probably makes the most sense, but clarke can definitely advise them on strategy, the best/most efficient spots to block to make people actually turn back and not be able to just work around it, so they don't just go randomly blowing stuff up and hoping for the best

The Ghislain Circle has stood abandoned since the Mage Rebellion began, but as the Inquisition prepares for action in the area, someone has to go clean it out. And if you like the opportunity to fight Arcane Horrors, intend to try and borrow some magical artifacts, want to argue for blowing up a Circle, or were ordered along by a grumpy division head, that someone could be you!

Any interested parties can sign up on our post on the Plotting Meme, which will be taking names until the 17th. Currently, the party stands at Fingon, Thor, Coupe, and Gareth, but 2-3 more people would be welcome. Southern mages would be particularly appreciated.

Full details are here but Araceli is off to do a favour for our potential new besties the Qunari which will involve a dinner meeting with floral messages in Antiva because we gotta get their boy Armat released.

But the path to freedom won't be so smooth and there are options on the table for how this goes with a chance to fail your persuasion or charisma rolls and you know someone thinks that the Qunari's boy was giving their weapons the eye. Nasty boy.

We'd like to have good sea relations with the Qunari when we have the Venatori to worry about so y'know. Come have a totally suave not at all stressful time in Antiva. Your meal is included. It won't be poisoned.

Araceli and Wren are off to charming Val Royeaux on some official business that's going to help reveal the names and such of the ladies in running to be the next Divine! Would you like to come on this road trip? Up to two more people can come on this mission but it's super important to get the names out there and spoken about to allow other player plots to happen.

We were thinking - but still up for other ideas - that it might be fun to do it as a sort of post-mission thing - where they're discussing the candidates and that moment when X person got to do a super cool thing. But again super open please come along and play your part in the Future Divine Reveal Party!

CLOSED | The Slave Situation: Kitty, Hanzo, Max, Connor and plus ones?

Hello friends! I thought I'd start rolling the ball in terms of our characters going northwards to investigate the slave situation.

So, first, a few questions:

1. Is your character going to be inviting someone along?
2. What would your character be focused on accomplishing while there?

For my part:

1. Kitty is going to bring Nikos Averesch as her plus-one.
2. Her main focus is going to be on learning about how best to elevate the slaves and get them into a position where they can fend for themselves if/when Corypheus is no more. To this end, and if no one objects, I think I'd like to have her primarily investigate Vasilia, because she's genuinely interested in knowing whether the position of the slaves will be better under Corypheus.

1. I'm still hashing out 1+s but Max is bringing John Silver, yw
2. Max would be good for either Solvarin or Tessaria, I don't have a strong preference on which! Her main goal is going to be finding ways to support the Inquisition and defeat Corypheus, specifically, so the world doesn't end before anyone gets their freedom etc. Priorities, guys.

ALSO we should nail down their cover story. Are we going with Hanzo as the slave owner and everyone else as servants or slaves, or???

Max could go either way personally. Playing a slave owner might be nice for allowing her to get the rest of them out of trouble quickly if they need it, but if Hanzo can fill that role, Max is alarmingly good at getting information out of people.

ALSO PT 2: since we have some differing opinions on this situation, did we want to play out some manner of IC group discussion of tactics? Either before or after they all gather their info?

1. It's unlikely; he doesn't really know anyone.
2. Connor was enslaved in his canon. His purpose was to investigate and hunt down his own who were attempting an uprising. So, he will want to focus on infiltrating the slaves/servants in Tevinter to gather information for the group and possibly to sway individuals or manipulate the situation if needed; he is a gifted negotiator and detective which would suit him well for both tasks.

He's here to basically be the "we're Tevinter, look at us!" stand in and also see if his family is involved, because they're ASSHOLES.

Hanzo would not be super comfortable, but he would do it! He's been a slave owner - technically still is - but he'd do it. He knows what's good, as long as he can get in and kick some Venatori ass.

HELLO. I do not have any Wardens for you, but consider: Ilias and Jehan are also going to Orzammar, where they are going to try (and almost definitely fail) to gain access to the Shaperate. Would you be interested in combining forces to have the same team do both missions? Or maybe just have them all hang out together in Orzammar?

Disclaimer: they're both weird super religious humans who may or may not be very helpful with the various assassination options, I'm guessing. Maybe Jehan has a secret double life, who can say. So rustling up more help for Yngvi's side of things would still be rad if we can! But if not, maybe the Inquisition is just short-handed and everybody's going to have to make do, etc.

Disclaimer 2: they're both side characters, so lowest priority for sign-ups.

john's just going to be playing an ostensibly supporting role here look at how supportive he can be everyone

tho like max his priorities are going to be about getting info with the bonus of judging the level of dissent and agitation among the population. he'd play at being a servant or slave, whatever is needed and whatever he can feasibly pull off, but he'll be sticking close to max as possible.

I would be down for them all going along together, Yngvi would probably be less than helpful with the Shaperate since he has beef with Orzammar so what could possibly go wrong with any of this?
