OCTOBER PLOT DISCUSSION

Because we have a lot of assignments and player plots about to start rolling, this post is here for any miscellaneous plot discussion that needs to take place on the OOC comm. You're still welcome to corral everyone to discuss things on Plurk, Discord, or whatever else! But since not all of our players are available on all of those services, and some conversations are better held in a more organized way, you can also post your own-top level comment for a given assignment/plot here and use that for organization and discussion.

If you post a top-level comment, make sure you indicate in the subject line whether the discussion is CLOSED (e.g., for an assignment with a chosen team) or OPEN (e.g., brainstorming for something new that anyone is welcome to jump in on).

CLOSED | The Slave Situation: Kitty, Hanzo, Max, Connor and plus ones?

Hello friends! I thought I'd start rolling the ball in terms of our characters going northwards to investigate the slave situation.

So, first, a few questions:

1. Is your character going to be inviting someone along?
2. What would your character be focused on accomplishing while there?

For my part:

1. Kitty is going to bring Nikos Averesch as her plus-one.
2. Her main focus is going to be on learning about how best to elevate the slaves and get them into a position where they can fend for themselves if/when Corypheus is no more. To this end, and if no one objects, I think I'd like to have her primarily investigate Vasilia, because she's genuinely interested in knowing whether the position of the slaves will be better under Corypheus.

1. I'm still hashing out 1+s but Max is bringing John Silver, yw
2. Max would be good for either Solvarin or Tessaria, I don't have a strong preference on which! Her main goal is going to be finding ways to support the Inquisition and defeat Corypheus, specifically, so the world doesn't end before anyone gets their freedom etc. Priorities, guys.

ALSO we should nail down their cover story. Are we going with Hanzo as the slave owner and everyone else as servants or slaves, or???

Max could go either way personally. Playing a slave owner might be nice for allowing her to get the rest of them out of trouble quickly if they need it, but if Hanzo can fill that role, Max is alarmingly good at getting information out of people.

ALSO PT 2: since we have some differing opinions on this situation, did we want to play out some manner of IC group discussion of tactics? Either before or after they all gather their info?

Hanzo would not be super comfortable, but he would do it! He's been a slave owner - technically still is - but he'd do it. He knows what's good, as long as he can get in and kick some Venatori ass.

john's just going to be playing an ostensibly supporting role here look at how supportive he can be everyone

tho like max his priorities are going to be about getting info with the bonus of judging the level of dissent and agitation among the population. he'd play at being a servant or slave, whatever is needed and whatever he can feasibly pull off, but he'll be sticking close to max as possible.

1. It's unlikely; he doesn't really know anyone.
2. Connor was enslaved in his canon. His purpose was to investigate and hunt down his own who were attempting an uprising. So, he will want to focus on infiltrating the slaves/servants in Tevinter to gather information for the group and possibly to sway individuals or manipulate the situation if needed; he is a gifted negotiator and detective which would suit him well for both tasks.

2. He would be trying to help slaves and get rid of the Venatori!

He's here to basically be the "we're Tevinter, look at us!" stand in and also see if his family is involved, because they're ASSHOLES.
