Who They Are: A Circle mage with a troubled upbringing. Wait, you ask, don't all Circle mages have those? Basically, yes. He's not remarkable in any way. Just an extremely normal man. Hello, friends!
Where They've Been: From an orphanage to the Circle Tower at Lake Calenhad, then to the Circle in Nevarra City, then to the Circle in Dairsmuid. Most recently, he has been convalescing with some Rivaini hedge mages after surviving a serious injury—these have been seemingly endless months of aging aunties brusquely fussing over him, feeding him hearty soups and stinky teas, tutting him when he's cranky, etc. Very soon he will arrive in Kirkwall.
What They Want: To join the Inquisition, because he is very helpful. You guys need artisan crafts, right? Check out this basket he made. Anyway, it has nothing to do with the presence of any specific person. Ignore that sad goth freaking out over there, whatever his problem is. (It's Ilias, he is coming to find Ilias.)

Plot & CR Desires: Aside from some drama lurking dimly on the horizon, I got nothin planned as of yet. Here are some informational niblets for you to chew thoughtfully upon:
- Was your character at the Circle Tower/Kinloch Hold from 9:19 Dragon to early 9:31?
If they were, yikes; but maybe they'll recall Leander from his early days as a puff of curly brown hair with big eyes and a talent for wrapping senior mages around his precious little finger. You know, before those demons gave all the kids PTSD. (except him he's fine)
- Was your character at the Nevarra City Circle from 9:31 to 9:32?
They may know Leander as that awkward but approachable artsy boy. Notable achievements include: being tapped to assist with murals in the Grand Necropolis, being regularly in the company of Ilias Fabria and his cousin Clio, exiting his Harrowing laughing and crying at the same time, and being transferred away very suddenly. (it was an accident)
- Was your character at the Dairsmuid Circle from 9:33-ish to 9:40?
They may know Leander as that unnerving but sometimes approachable artist who was hungry for knowledge, especially on spirits and demons. He would often arrange found animal bones and bits into patterns. He avoided sharing much of his finished artwork with anyone, instead preferring to destroy it. When the Circle was Annulled in 9:40, he fled with a few other survivors. (exasperated sigh)
- Was your character an apostate in Rivain after the Annulment?
They may remember Leander as that... kind of... intense... member of a hostile rebel group, which we should discuss. He's been presumed dead since 9:41. (ominous music as a single hand reaches, clawlike, into frame)

Anything Else: Leander's coming on as a side character to start. Ye mods have decreed I have a maximum of three months to get my act together and app him for real, so please accompany me on this journey of swearing and hand-wringing while I take this character skeleton Jenni lent me and attempt to bring it to life. Buddy here would've been 16 at the time. Since they were in different age groups, and Lea isn't much of a big-brother type, it'll probably have to be more of an acquaintance situation. But he may latch onto that anyway.

That very much counts as "knew each other." tbh Colin was very isolated for most of his Circle years, so that's about as good as it gets. And he's the sort where if Lea jumped on him claiming they were besties/soulmates/married/rivals/mortal enemies, he would just nod along.

cas is a few years older but was pals with ilias for a while until SOMEONE stopped WRITING. he liked thoughtful people, and was generally a pretty loyal (if kinda bitter) nerd interested in spirits possessing objects. also a little more obviously emotionally unstable than is generally a circle mage survival trait.

probably asked lots of questions about any ~*art*~ but the sort that tend toward the technical rather than the emotional or aesthetic. fingerguns.

Boy, their interests are/were well aligned – shoving spirits into objects is a fascination of Lea's too. Only, he is probably less kind about it. He's also going to be very interested in the whole Tranquility development.

Kostos was in Nevarra City during those years! They were also the years he had his shit relatively together and was ambitious and not quite as weird and morbid as he’d started out. But he was still an asshole with no friends who had a one-way unrequited grudge against Ilias, so if anything he was probably mean to Leander. Might have insulted his art. Might have just ignored him very blatantly.

And, if you want to frighten Ilias before the party actually begins, Lea will be sailing from Rivain to Cumberland to get to Nevarra City, so the thing will glow as he does a flyby, get fainter, then get hot again once it's go time. Not specifically/that has been stated in former tags, though his magical interests definitely tend toward the more abstract (barriers, mana manipulation, that sort of thing). Also good at glyphs, so he was likely teaching those at some point.

Side note, he was away from Kinloch during Uldred's Rebellion, and no, he doesn't feel any survivor's guilt at all, why do you ask.

hihihi Audra was at Kinloch Hold from 9:27-9:35 and she kind of collected friends so they very likely knew each other! She was 14 when all the Uldred shit went down and she came out of that whole thing (relatively?) unscathed, and was protecting several kiddos during the whole thing.

uhh she's always had spirity leanings, though not so much on the healing side of things she's got no talent for healing which is a shame because she's got great bedside manner. She's very nice to all the zombies she raises.

Sure! Lea is 30-ish now, so that would put them in very different age groups, but if Anders was interested in kids for whatever reason they may have spoken. Otherwise, just knowing of each other's existence works too.

I'll bet Anders was a like a folk hero to a lot of the younger kids on account of his many jailbreaks.

Very late to this, I know, but Inessa lived in Kinloch Hold from 9:26 onward, until the rebellion. She came from the Denerim alienage at four years old, and was definitely there for Uldred's rebellion, so they could remember each other, if you like?
