So I have no idea what I'm doing but I don't think Anders will believe that the refugees are all right. He might ask for all of them to be let out of archer range to say that they are, since when only two are allowed out with the rest held back it feels a little suspicious.
Malcolm is a beatstick meatshield with a horse and a dog, decent on scouting and better on brawling. He's not gonna buy that everything's neat and tidy but he can smile and ask for a look around just to be sure things are good.
Lenn's a rifter beatstick (better with sword than bow, but good with both), with a few magical abilities. The first she's managed to figure out is a winter's grasp variant, but a fun one for this particular quest that could come awake to help with the refugee sitch is she has a mile radius ability to tell if anyone is near death (mortal peril or otherwise). If they're particularly heroic individuals, she can pick up some snippets of thought.
She is concerned for the safety of the refugees, but is also very concerned with the theft of Inquisition property and the murder of their soldiers. Someone's paying for it in kind.
Jamie is also a rifter beatstick who's good with swords, knives and brawling. Since they've already been attacked by the time they get to the fortress, he's not going to be so willing to take the situation at face value and would want to check up on the other refugees to see if they're really alright. If they can convince them to let the refugees out past archer range, great! but since he has doubts that'll happen maybe they can talk them into letting them take a look around and see if things are on the up and up - and keep an eye out for anything that would indicate it isn't.
If it comes to it they can always also offer to go in under guard and/or without weapons as a show of good faith or something, although they'll have to be extra careful if they do.
Iron Bull's getting a whiff of something funny here. Though hey, you want to wander in without weapons/armor? He's fine with that. Not like he needs them.
Or they can pretend to leave and then take them by surprise, or find a way to get a view of the situation once they think they're not being watched.
Oh, he's sure he could fight without weapons and armor too, if it came to it.
But pretending to leave and going either for surprise or scouting to get a better view of the situation to sneak back in again are both things he can get down with. So stealth would be just fine with him.
I really hope you all are tracking this, because apparently I'm failing at tracking anything - the mods got back to me days ago and I don't have a notif for some reason, but there's a response that everyone should read here.
No worries on my end. Looking at that, though, I would say that Jamie would be inclined to accept the RTF's surrender even if he's really unhappy about what happened to the elves. Overall, though, he thinks it'd be better to have them brought back and have them judged for their crimes rather than kill them outright.
However, since I don't know exactly how that part of it would play out, would we want to get started with a log at this point, just to get the ball rolling there?
My preference would be to backdate it to earlier in the month as well, so we can still have people go to Emprise - although I'm guessing that it'll be much like Fallow Mire and we'd be able to turn up a bit later on if need be. Whatever works for people is generally okay with me, though!
