player plot: throwin' shade
Hey! This is a sign-up post for simple, low commitment player plot to do over the holidays (statistically the best time to accomplish anything, I've heard. I'm Sorry).

WHO'S INVOLVED: Wysteria + folks from Research and Diplomacy (or anyone with seemingly applicable skills). I'm imagining a total of 5-6, but if for some reason there's a ton of interest I can split this up a few different ways to make threading things conceivable. Looking for a combination of nerd types and salesman types.
WHAT'S HAPPENING: In an attempt to bring in some extra income, Wysteria has proposed that they monetize a crate of sunglasses that fell through a rift ages ago and has since been in the Gallows storage. Research is going to be replicating (to the best of their abilities, given Thedosian resources aka no plastic) sunglasses, producing a few prototypes, and then working with Diplomacy to pitch them to a wealthy Antivan fashionista for investment and wide-scale distribution. Let's make sunglasses fashionable.
This has been officially endorsed by Research and Diplomacy, so if you want an excuse to participate feel free to say one of your Division Heads told your character to be there or be square.
HOW IT'S HAPPENING: Depending on the volume of participants, this log will be broken down into two main components: 1) going on a road trip perilously close to occupied Orlais to source materials from an artisan glassmaker-slash-alchemist who works with special components to make glass that blocks certain kinds of light; 2) visiting with a wealthy Antivan influencer and metaphorically romancing them with fashion oddities.
+ Potentially an open freestyle component for anyone who wants to mess with the part where they actually manufacture/design some medieval shades.
Characters are not required to participate in both sections, as they're nominally distinct outings.
WHEN IT'S HAPPENING: Hard deadline for sign-ups is the end of November; log will go up in December.
