Who They Are: Joselyn is one half of ~the Smythes~, identical twin mages from Markham. Ostensibly. Fun fact: if you manage to put one over an entire Circle for the better part of thirty years that you're a mage when you aren't, you develop a really specific kind of cockiness. Her official excuse for the fact you never see her doing magic is, and has been since "her" harrowing, that she prefers not to for religious reasons. No, she didn't see any conflict in actively fighting Templars during the rebellion while continuing to religiously object to personally using any magic ever.
Where They've Been: Joselyn and her sister (Miriam) went to Andoral's Reach and were active parts of the mage rebellion while trying to ~~herd cats~~ protect the children they'd escaped their tower with, and eventually joined the Inquisition when that became the thing to do. Inseparable besides the brief time when Miriam went to the Circle before Joselyn managed to get herself sent too, Joselyn has been sent to Riftwatch without her sister due to receiving an anchor-shard and Miriam being inconveniently assigned to a project/mission/whatever she couldn't easily be removed from.
What They Want: H e r s i s t e r. Also to better understand this thing in her hand, and not to get busted as a fake mage.
Plot & CR Desires: Joselyn is totally fine and not at all stressed about being separated from her sister and definitely isn't even a little bit worried that Miriam won't come and join her once she's free to. Who wants to be the recipient of displaced anxiety!!! Also, rebel mage stuff.
