Who They Are: Sonia is the niece of the recently-ascended Bann Verus of Wildcrest, a Ferelden bannorn just north of the Hinterlands. She’s a standing diplomat of the Ferelden party circuit and a general good-time-haver. She is also one Byerly Rutyer's cousin and long-time friend, despite her otherwise apparent good taste.
Where They've Been: Her home in Wildcrest, a little bit around other parts in Ferelden more recently. She’s spent the better part of the last year caring for her ailing grandfather, the former bann, who passed away a few months ago. Since then, it’s been nothing but family drama with her uncle now in power, and she is Done.
What They Want: To be away from her uncle and icky family politics, but also to actually try and make a little something of herself. She pretends not to care what her uncle thinks about her, but the recent accusations of being the family's resident ne'er-do-well have gotten under her skin, and a (not so) small part of her would like to prove him wrong out of spite and pride. She can have her diplomatic cake and eat it too and she is Determined.
