MOD EVENT: WINTERMARCH WINTER MARCH

Most of the necessary info is contained in the IC post because this is a pretty straightforward, choose your own winter adventure type event. The post provides a number of prompts, including some specific problems Riftwatch has been asked to address. We won't be doing limited threads or sign-ups for any of this—if you want to RP your character participating, just post a top-level of them doing it!

You're also welcome to make up your own Vinmark adventure along the lines of what's described here. As long as you stay within the general scale of what we've described—i.e., small issues that impact a village or two at most, usually mundane or mildly magical—you should feel free to make things up without submitting a plot request. If you want to do something larger, something with potentially more far-reaching effects, or something with bigger plot connections (including anything to do with Venatori or red lyrium), please check with us first. Next month will be focused on player plots and war table missions, so we may ask you to submit your idea in that form instead.

Otherwise, go hunt bears and get trapped in caves by blizzards to your hearts' content. If you have any questions, there's a top-level below for them as always.

marcus and petrana have some ideas re: bertrand - would it be possible to use their hightown connections to go around bertrand entirely and encourage an ambitious neighbour to supply the town and earn their gratitude / spread gossip to the effect of bertrand being ineffective and trapped in his own castle leaving the area In Need Of Strong Leadership? petra was recently promoting some diplomatic links with flint in hightown, and could drop a lil gossip-chum into the shark water.

Hi! We don’t have any problem with that, as long as (1) the Diplomacy Division is on board and (2) it all comes about after trying to reach Bertrand directly has failed, so everyone who wants to use him as a reason for their indoor-plant diplomacy characters to try to climb a frozen mountain still has the excuse.

(As a footnote, the villagers don't consider themselves particularly in need of strong leadership, or any leadership really, so that might be a small sticking point, but one that can also be assuaged.)

hi mods. semi-related to this plot due to the Grippe aspect but mainly focused on Kirkwall and the Gallows so feel free to direct me elsewhere--

following this post and this conversation, tony and joselyn are going to try to put together a very basic sanitising solution for cleaning down hands and surfaces. he obviously has a working modern knowledge around basic sanitation and what goes into it and how to prevent the spread of disease, while joselyn is an alchemist, so it's mostly about managing to drum up supplies and distribute amongst the organisation. wider distribution than that would probably be a bigger project.

along with this distribution of sanitiser, there is also an attempt at normalising/spreading awareness around the principles of germ theory and advertising some basic precautions.

obviously people who wanna be sick can be sick, but equally people who want to Learn Something can do so as well.
