Name: Lady Betrys Miniver

Who They Are: A Nice Upperclass Lady with opinions and blindspots to match. A woman with a sharp awareness of her self-presentation and general image. Someone who knows there must be more than this provincial life, but who hasn't been able to find out what.
Where They've Been: Ostwick, being A Good Girl and A Credit To Her Family but also lowkey trying to convince her family to let her do stuff they really aren't interested in letting her do. Getting a shard stuck in her hand. Reading the Chant and trashy romance novels. Attending parties.
What They Want:
1. To not have a shard in her hand
2. To study at the University of Orlais and write Serious Things About The Maker
3. To marry well and have sweet little children with minimal difficulty
4. Not to think too hard about whether having a shard of magic in her hand makes her as dangerous as a mage and therefore ineligible for points 2 and 3.
5. For the world to go back to normal, please.
Plot & CR Desires:
• People Of Good Breeding - she's used to Society, if not the level of Society one might expect someplace like Val Royeaux.
• People of Bad Breeding - this is the ideal opportunity for her to (slowly) think about revising some of her opinions--and get into arguments in the meanwhile. Please don't expect her to be convinced quickly or easily--or even for subjects to come up right away, necessarily, because she'd really rather not talk about all this unpleasantness--but if you're all right with that, then we can dig into some of this stuff!
• Nerds - Bets is an academic, or at least an aspiring one. Her focus is theology, but she can respect interests of all sorts. And with all love and respect to her circle of friends in Ostwick, she's definitely been hungry as hell for academic conversations.
• Religious people - Not just Andrastians, either. Anyone who might (eventually, after long struggle perhaps) share with her about their faiths is CR that'd be really neat.
• People to eventually learn to trust - She so desperately needs people she can trust with Real Feelings, Okay.
• Whatever else - I'm just happy to be here, friends. And I'm excited to have a character who talks a little more than Laura does, lmfao.
