WHAT: Groups of merchants have petitioned Riftwatch for assistance with strange happenings in the Planasene Forest, disrupting their travel routes. Some claim to have been set upon uncharacterisically aggressive wolves, bears and birds, while other claims that groups of murderous elves are attacking their wagons and still others insisting they've been set upon by demonic spirits punishing them for using the forest. They've petitioned Riftwatch to look into and resolve the situation.

Based off what merchants can describe and some tracking, and prevailing through some the aforementioned creatures and demons (no savage elves to be found) Riftwatch can find a rune-carved altar with several artifacts that have been influencing the local wildlife. Further inspection will show that this is a well-maintained and frequently visited equivalent of a workshop for some magic user, for probably not awesome purposes. Destroying the altar and the ruins will stop the effect, and it'll be the group's choice whether to destroy the artifacts on it or bring them back as a nice present for Thranduil.

WHEN: Loosely Kingsway, before Satinalia so no one has to worry about missing out on parties.

WHOMST: Small group of 5ish people, more can come if there's a lot of interest. Priority to Forces members but plenty of room for anyone who wants a stroll in the woods or nerds to eyeball the altar.

HOW: Sign-ups will stay open for a week, then i'll put up a log with more detailed descriptive information and y'all can go wild.

TL;DR: Creepy magic shit! Demons! Bears! Option for some camping if y'all are really about that life.

Jone has a solid 8 if it's something that looks like money or looks like it could be easily converted into money.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Jone can find a gold chalice in the grass. Possibly a once very fine piece of craftsmanship, it's seen better days. There are spaces where jewels might have once been inlaid but been have long since been pried off, and the cup itself has been dented, perhaps from being trampled on by a bear, but she'll be able to discern from the crusted, dark stains along the rim and interior of the chalice that it's probably been filled with blood. It's unnaturally warm to the touch.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Matthias can find a pair of dolls; dealer's choice as to whether or not they're lightly scorched. Otherwise, the pair are relatively plain, made of sticks and braided weeds, bound together with twine and long blades of grass. There are no faces, but some traces of rust-colored stains can be found on the dolls after close examination. If Matthias is diligent, he can salvage a few scraps of red and blue fabric that might have been meant as clothing. Generally, whoever made these wasn't great at doll-craft.
