Who They Are: XO and Chief Engineer of a space ship, Naomi is a Belter (a human who's grown up impoverished and in the rough conditions of zero/low gravity within the Asteroid Belt) with multiple university degrees who believes in doing the right thing, and personal freedom. She used to run with a group of freedom fighters who leaned a little too hard on terrorism, and carries with herself a lot of resulting trauma and baggage. She's also the person James Holden spends his life making heart eyes at (it's okay, she makes them back).
Where They've Been: Naomi recently took some time away from her found family to find herself, and relearn what kinds of people she needs to surround herself with, and what kind of idealistic causes she doesn't ascribe to. She got knocked unconscious through Space Shenanigans before ever getting the chance to have that reunion and the chance to make amends, instead falling into a dream and subsequently onto.
What They Want: To quote Naomi: "We have to do good where we can, when we can." And this strange planet with its space-alien-esque magic will be no different.
Plot & CR Desires: Naomi will likely easily feel empathetic towards elves (yay for being Othered and oppressed?), find the sky as strange as dwarves do, and be very interested in other Rifters, too.
