A SECRET SURPRISE PLAYER PLOT APPEARS:

What’s better than an assignment going off without a hitch? An assignment going terribly, terribly wrong within the heart of an enemy stronghold while tracking Corypheus’ pet dragon. Why? Well—
Because you get the chance to get in on the terribly risky aftermath, of course.
What happened?
As of week five’s end, segueing into week 6, Tiffany, Barrow and Astarion finished their work in tracking Corypheus’ dragon, concluding their tour by landing within the stronghold where it and Corypheus had previously been hanging out— a fortress in the Silent Plains led by Primus Taxarchis.
Inside they discovered evidence of an eluvian being used to shuttle assets to and from Minrathous. All well and good, mission entirely successful— until one very handsome and definitely cool resident vampire spawn decided to start assassinating Tevinter troops on the way out, thus alerting the base to their presence, and prompting a vicious counterattack from the now-alert fortress.
Not so good.
Astarion and Barrow suffered critical wounds, and swept up by Tiffany, the trio managed to flee the base on griffonback while under siege— sort of. They didn’t exactly get very far.
Crashing near the base counts as an escape, though, as far as technicalities go.
What now?
Stranded and wounded in the depths of an unmapped desert ravine, without anything but themselves and the tools they’d brought, the three are in desperate need of help.
As per Barrow and Tiffany’s network post, without assistance, things are going to get grim. Exceedingly so.
I hate reading and I’m tired.
That’s okay, me too. Bullet points:
-Barrow, Tiffany and Astarion pissed off a Tevinter base in the Silent Plains.
-they are now stranded at the bottom of a cavernous ravine, injured and unsupplied: without help, they’re fairly certain they'll die— or that they could be caught if they’re found out— or that they could die from being found out. Either way it’s not happy thoughts they're clinging to.
-the caverns are deep, dark, labyrinthine, and inherently unforgiving.
-the trio is lacking in supplies, warmth, healing, mounts, protection, a way out— you name it they need it.
-all of this will take time. To reach them within the wastes near Hasmal, to help them get out, etc: timeline wise this takes place at the end of week five segueing into week 6, when Riftwatch forces are free to head home if they care to, but given that this is technically hostile territory between Primus Taxarchis’ base and Hasmal, it’s probably going to be a deliberate choice if your characters decide to come here.
-Everything either done or supplied will help, and count to the overall success of this plot. Basically, you really can't mess this up, and every little bit of aid is a big damn deal for them.
-the griffons are fine: after their riders got knocked off, they went home. they don't get paid enough in feed for this.
How’s this going to work?
One open log with location toplevels to tag into, no strict time table, no ooc signups, no restrictions or obligations for interaction. We're keeping this light for the sake of everyone's sanity.
If you want to have your characters help, all they have to do is tag in. You can make your own toplevels for various scenarios, opt to play amongst each other in delving into the caves or handwave that part in favor of coming directly to help the trio themselves. There are potential obstacles literally anywhere you want, and not just one type of character would excel at this, since medicine, survival, intelligence, combat prowess, etc, would all help.
That said, we know this is coming at the end of a very big plot, so if your character can’t or wouldn’t help, no worries and no pressure! This is meant to just be a scenario to play with, and no hearts will be broken if it just isn’t your thing.
Also as a side note: because this is such an open plot there’s not going to be any definitive conclusion aside from the promise they’ll eventually get out. In the event that you guys somehow come up with something buck wild or dramatique enough to mess with that in some minor way, we can tackle that bridge if we get to it.
tl;dr: this is for funsies, we're keeping it OOCly light even if the IC drama is high, and no one is obligated to leap in on this in any capacity. But if you want to, our arms are wide open.
