ASSIGNMENT-O-MATIC: Sept-Nov Edition

WHAT: Mini-missions geared toward Forces and Forces-related problems. Typically these will be small in scale and may or may not relate to the trajectory of other larger scale player plots or war table assignments that I might be designing behind my Wizard of Oz curtain. Think the Jobs board, except I will be doing my best to give you an assignment that is tailored to your characters skills or is in some way meant to be specifically narratively compelling to them.

Please note that as written these are meant to be small scale assignments that largely function as fun set dressing for building or jumpstarting CR rather than meaningfully impacting the world state. The results of these may be something I build off of for war table assignments/plotting in the future, but if you want to do use your assignment to do something dramatic and presently impactful with the world state, please develop the idea and use it as a framework to submit to the mods for a player plot.

WHO: Characters must be in Forces to sign up. Once you receive your assignment, you're welcome to recruit whoever you want to assist you (whether your character would ICly pick that character or not) and we can pretend that they were included in the Official Orders.

WHEN AND HOW: Ideally assignments will be generated on a fairly regular basis throughout the noted Leadership Quarter. By signing up, you are putting your character's name on a list to semi-randomly receive an assignment during that period. At some point during the quarter, I will reach out to you to make sure that you have the time and inclination to complete an assignment within two or three months.

If you confirm you have time, I will develop a mini mission and hand it off to you/your character (either via OOC communication or through an IC thread WOW NEAT!). You will then be responsible for threading something related to it, be it setting up a log or having your character gossip about it to someone else or whatever.

• Filing reports will not be required, but I will keep a log of completed assignments and their results for reference, so please make sure to report back to me with your results (again either OOCly or ICly. Whatever). You're welcome to file a report in the rookery comm if you actually WANT to but I won't make you.
  
• With that in mind, please be aware that I won't be chasing you down for your results. If you confirm that you want an assignment, you're also confirming that you will keep track of time and let me know how it goes. If I don't hear back from you within the agreed upon time frame either ICly or in the comments below/via PM/carrier pigeon then I will assume we're retconning the assignment and that I can recycle or reskin the idea for reuse.

If for whatever reason you're not ready to run off and have an adventure when I reach out, I will simply move on to the next person and come back to you at a later date. If you're the last person in the current set of sign-ups and there is no one else waiting for an assignment, I will ask if you want to be rolled over onto the next quarter's roster or if you want to be dropped from the list.

GOALS:

• Use these smaller assignments to help develop lead in and establish little details for future war table assignments.
  
• Give individual characters more agency, give IC jobs to people with the IC skillsets to accomplish those jobs. Cool!
  
• Open Flint up to more CR with members of the division. We don't have to thread the (potentially) boring part where Flint assigns your character a job, but having more specific talking points will help me make him more available to your characters in general.

Otherwise, the world is your oyster. Ellis has rambled around Thedas a fair amount, has armor will travel. Love the opportunity for action but also the aftermath of extremely messy violence even more. Darkspawn and monsters a bonus, but if it doesn't fit into your magic generator I will accept garden variety threats.
