Remember to put all plots and events on the 9:47 Calendar! This is to help everyone keep track of everything's chronological order and to give us a reference when we update the game's plot timeline to help everyone keep track of what's happened. Once your plot request is approved this should be your next stop. Please help us keep this up to date.

Activity Reorganization

As previously announced, we've reworked how activity is recorded to try to streamline the process. The new page is now up, so please use it going forward. And we haven't checked AC yet, so if you haven't done yours, there's still time to avoid the naughty list.

We may also be doing some reorganization of game files to try to finally clean up our 6 years worth of overlapping and occasionally-contradictory information, so if you see stuff moving around or temporarily unavailable don't be alarmed!

Tower Layout

As you may have seen if you've looked at the Housing spreadsheet lately, we've added new communal workrooms to the central tower in the Gallows. Riftwatch got a bargain on a large set of desks from a merchant who no longer wanted to risk making the trip any further than Kirkwall, and is using them to give each Riftwatch member a dedicated workspace.

There is now a workroom for each division on the same floor as the project offices, and each division member has been assigned a desk. You can see who your character's desk-neighbors are here. We encourage you to take a look and use these spaces as an easy way to build CR with coworkers. We also encourage you to ignore how many rooms we're retconning into existence (we always said there was unused space!).

We've also added a few other communal spaces on shared floors, or rather have spelled out where those are located by creating (rough, not-to-scale) floor plans for all of the residential floors. You can check these to get a better idea of how things are laid out. They are also in the housing sheet. Many floors also have common areas for easy CR with people living on your character's floor. And, lastly, there's a tab for people who live outside the Gallows to indicate that, which you can use to find (approximate) neighbors or the people your character could walk to the docks and ride the ferry with every day.

Leadership Requirements

As a reminder, this leadership quarter runs till the end of November. If you play a Division Head, Project Leader, or other IC leadership role please make sure to complete the appropriate requirements in that time span. As a reminder, our annual holiday hiatus will begin around Thanksgiving, so please make sure not to leave all your plot requests to the end of the cycle.

Riftwatch Improvements

Reminder that all plot reports (whether war table or player plot!) can be turned in for points toward purchasing Riftwatch Improvements on the AC Rewards page. A couple of these have already been purchased, or are close! Once you've posted a report to the rookery, make sure to post it to the rewards page as well to help buy some much-needed Gallows upgrades (like an elevator please an elevator).

IC & PLOT UPDATES

IC News

If you missed it, there was some additional IC news mid-September about developments in the Waking Sea.

We've reorganized the IC news system! Our original plan was to use this to disseminate the kind of news that characters might hear in taverns or through gossip/contacts of their own, but in practice we've more often used it for the kind of news that would come from Riftwatch's contacts or field agents and it has been strange that people on the street might be talking about it before Riftwatch became aware. To account for that, we're going to switch to basing news distribution on division, so characters are passing on to everyone else information that Riftwatch has received rather than randomly hearing it in the market somewhere, though there may still be some less-official tidbits. Project involvement and particular interests will be taken into account where possible to tailor news assignments to people who'd be interested in them. Mod Plot Plans

We're going to have a smaller event later this month! Our plan is for it to be both seasonal and war-related. It will require characters to leave Kirkwall, but it will be smaller and briefer than a full-blown mod plot, so there's plenty of room to proceed with your own player plots and war table assignments. It also won't interfere with Satinalia, as our October plots have in some years past, so party-plan with abandon.

We'll have full-sized mod plot in mid/late November.

IC Leader Updates

Effective immediately, Marcus Rowntree will serve as Captain of the Watch.
