War Table: Scouting Division

SCOUTING MISSION: WEEKEND AT FERDIE'S
Riftwatch has received word from an agent in enemy-occupied Hasmal, codenamed Ferdinand, that he's arranged a meeting with a Tevinter defector who has some valuable information. The defector is jumpy and has a narrow window of opportunity, so Riftwatch needs to move fast to meet him. A team will be sent to sneak into Hasmal and meet Ferdinand, who will introduce them to the would-be defector and help him escape and pass along his information. Things will not go quite as planned: on arrival, the team will discover that Ferdinand is no more.
ICly, this mission is aimed at subterfuge and gathering intelligence. OOCly, it's more intended as an opportunity for comedy hijinks, though given the trip to an occupied city there will also be room for some drama if desired. There may be a version of the spreadsheet Ammmy and Abby recently piloted used to suggest and reward said hijinks with useful information/loot. I haven't quite decided about that yet. (If anyone feels strongly one way or the other about the mechanic, feel free to add a note to your sign-up.)
This plot is for roughly 4 PCs, with dibs given to characters who are members of the Scouting Division. Sign-ups will close Tuesday evening, 8/9, with an aim of getting info out by Thursday.

Notes: If the fact that he can necromance will prevent hijinks rather than help enable them, I promise to find a way to make it impossible for him to do so at the time.

Plus, investigation will reveal another difficulty. Ferdinand has left copious (encoded) records of his meetings with the secretly-anti-Venatori Tevinter officer he calls 'Evergreen', who he met thanks to a mutual love of opera and the women who sing it, and these include clear instructions for where and when the meet is arranged to take place. But they also make clear that Evergreen has become extremely skittish and that Ferdinand feared any complication or alteration to the plan might cause him to abandon it altogether. Ferdinand not appearing in person at the meeting runs a serious risk of tipping Evergreen over the edge, and learning that Ferdinand is dead certainly would do it.
So, they have several immediate problems to solve: prevent anyone from discovering that Ferdinand is dead, pull off the meeting with Evergreen and convince him to help Riftwatch without raising his guard any higher, and then escape from the city. Ideally, they have to do all this while leaving as little trace as possible to avoid endangering Ferdinand's contacts or causing the people of Hasmal in general to suffer reprisals by the enemy after they've gone.
OOC, there is a spreadsheet to play with, with some suggested goals if you'd like to incorporate them in order to acquire points to spend on various outcomes. If you have any questions or come up with anything that you want to do that you feel is in the spirit of the spreadsheet but not currently included, let me know and maybe I'll assign it a point value. But I make no promises, and if you try to find a way to avoid someone having to puppet and/or impersonate a corpse in some ridiculous way then I'm going to be pretty disappointed in you all.
Points can be earned through 9/12, report is due 9/19. (Note that some of the tag-count points can only be earned by certain earlier dates.)
