player plot: merry & bright

Hello! This is advanced notice that on December 20 I'm going to put up a player plot in which our heroes are once again trapped in prolonged shared and overlapping dreams they have to struggle their way out of with the power of friendship. This time they'll be dreams of a happy and comfortable future. Whether this imaginary future is actually satisfying to your character in the innermost layer of their soul onion is up to you—and it's not only fine but encouraged for wrongness to seep in at the edges and turn it into something more sinister as it goes on—but the spirit behind it will be doing its best to design a world where no external threats or obstacles are standing between them and a happily ever after. Within those parameters you can do anything you want!

It'll be open to everyone who wants to participate, no sign-ups or commitments required! Just giving everyone a head's up so you can think and plot out what scenario(s) you want to use instead of feeling pressured to come up with them on the spot. And I realize that five days before Christmas may not be the ideal timing for everyone, but by design the plot will be disjointed and not something anyone can actually be late to ✌️ so hop in whenever.

If you have questions while planning you can ask them here!

very excited to rip everyone's happy endings out from under them, quick q so i can adjust plans accordingly: these being dreams, is it acceptable for a rifter adapted to thedas (ie a purple half-elf who is now elfblooded, just as a RANDOM EXAMPLE), to be dreaming of themselves in the state they feel suits them best, even if it couldn't exist in thedas? or would they continue to look like their normal thedosian selves?

The first to pull free of the delusion on their own will find themselves in the twisting grasp of a lucid dream that’s trying very hard to snare them again, stumbling out of their happy endings into the worlds of others’. They might be pulled beneath the surface for a time: the entity saying, all right, if that didn’t work for you, maybe this?

HELLO. just double-checking some mechanics— this is very dumb looney tunes shenanigans but could i say that like, thx to stephen’s budding experience in dreaming, he winds up Particularly Good at seeing the seams but it keeps going awry for him whenever he tries to do something about it: like idk a beehive falls on him mid-conversation, he chokes on a pear, his mouth literally glitches out, before in the end as normal the dream punts him out every time if he’s getting too close to trying to convince someone else, and then it all starts anew?

he’ll also initially fall for the illusions when it resets each time, but i v much wanna sink my teeth into some ridiculous unraveling :’)
