Our "January" mod plot is now up over here! Riftwatch is delving into the Necropolis, then deeper. The log post includes one major split where you will have to choose between Part III and Part IV for each character, but we hope it is otherwise fairly straightforward. If you have any questions about any aspect of the plot, you can ask on this post.

We'll be updating this post with claimable rewards ASAP. You can look at a previous mod plot post for an idea of what will be available in the meantime — anything unstarred will be available this time as well, plus a new selection of one-time rewards themed to fit the plot. hello mods, if a certain psychic someone were to try to detect thoughts on the lyrium dwarves, how would that go? she'd specifically use the telepathy that only gets surface thoughts that could go undetected, not the stuff where she has to talk to them and give away what she's doing!

Hello player! If a certain psychic someone connects to the dwarves, she'll pick up both a very loud (psychically speaking) song, perhaps familiar if she has ever heard the song from lyrium, and thoughts that are not really verbal so much as vaguely visual plans or ideas. The latter will pass in and out of the surface a little like dolphins surfacing.

Is the eluvian hexed/trapped, and would Emmrich be able to detect such either way?

...extra question, sorry, if he asks one of the elf corpses where they're from and what they'd like done with their bodies, would he get answers, and what answers?

The eluvian is not hexed or trapped! It is currently dormant, though, locked behind the elves via an unknown control/key/passphrase; Riftwatch's own passphrases won't have an effect.

Asking the elves where they're from could get him a variety of place names — you can choose from modern Dalish clan names, various alienages, places no one has heard of, and at least one who says Arlathan. Most will want to be buried, except those from alienages, who would want to be cremated.

hi, me again, might talin know the pass phrase to this eluvian for very normal being dalish reasons? i assume no but want to verify!

No, none of the passphrases he knows will open this one, but he'd know it's normal for their passphrases to change for security reasons and for different parts of their network to have different passphrases that are handed out on a need-to-know basis (so it wouldn't suggest that he's specifically being excluded or cast out into the cold or anything). Sorry for the delay on this too!

hey mods! a thought just occured to me—what would happen if talin invoked fen'harel to try to keep the elves at the gate from fighting him/someone else? obviously he can't stop them from fighting everyone, but if he threw out a quick fen'harel enaste, we're on the same side, would that have any affect on just one of them?

We meet again. The elves at the gate will be primarily focused on fighting the Venatori and will only be fighting Riftwatch insofar as they need to defend themselves (or Riftwatch is in the way of them fighting the Venatori), but identifying himself to any of them that way could make them extra careful not to hurt him if it is avoidable.

Hello. What would happen if someone tried to take some of the Titan's lyrium out of the cave and back with them?

If she tried to take some of the piece that was amputated as they were leaving, she (or, you know, "someone," whoever) could get away with it. But she'd need to be sneaky to avoid the remaining Sha-Brytol noticing, as they'd react badly. She'd also need to be very careful, because this is still raw lyrium and therefore likely to result in blistering and nausea even with temporary exposure, and if she brought it too close to mages or rifters they would experience further adverse effects up to, like, death.
