OOC Plotting: Peace Bore a Heavy Price

Hello, Inquisition!

Aleron and Nathaniel are setting up a sporting event down at the Warden camp, to take place in one week (March/Drakonis 30). All welcome, none obligated to come.

It is a day of spectator fighting, with the ultimate purpose of getting people to work out their personal issues with each other. Anyone can challenge anyone. The challenged person can decline or accept, and if they accept, they choose the method of competition. There will be a set of rules to avoid serious injury:

1. No magic.
2. A volunteer healer will determine whether someone is fit for a bout.
3. Conduct the fight honorably. If someone surrenders the fight, it ends immediately and without question. Don't deliberately incapacitate someone to the point where they won't be able to perform their duties after the fight is over. We are, in fact, all on the same side.
4. All weapons must be blunt, even blades.

At the end of the fight, participants are to consider their issue resolved and move forward.

Anything else? He's a grizzled veteran in his prime. But he's also extremely honorable and if a tiny elf wants to challenge him, he won't be a dick about it and pick wrestling or something.

Maximum number of challengers: Depends on who's challenging. I imagine she couldn't go more than one or two bouts with a really physical fight.
Preferred fighting method: Staff.
Anything else? She's 5'1" and like 90 pounds soaking wet. If challenged, she'll go for a fighting style she could actually possibly win with.

Beleth might challenge Nathaniel to an archery contest, though she'll make it clear that she doesn't have any particular grudges, she just wants to compare techniques. And see what a bow that's bigger and heavier than her can do.

Maximum number of challengers: Norrington's a trained warrior so he'll take you one on one all day, but at most together probably four or five.

Preferred fighting method: Sword and shield one on one combat.
Anything else? Norrington's going to prefer his sword and shield combo but he's not a dick so if someone wants fisticuffs in bare shirts he'll do that too.

Maximum number of challengers: Probably three, max, in melee. Archery contests are a different matter.
Preferred fighting method: Archery shoot-off.
Anything else? Katniss will brawl if necessary but she's learned mostly dirty fighting and has four knives hidden on her so ... challenge at your own risk.

Maximum number of challengers: Velanna could theoretically fight all day long but 3-4 would probably realistically be her max.

Anything else? Velanna is five feet tall and bony but she's also a Warden and can pack a lot of anger into her tiny frame. She is also not above fighting dirty.

Anything else? He can get a lil vicious and fight dirty, i.e. scratching and biting if he has to and using dirty tricks in battle. If this is frowned upon and he does it anyway, feel free to disqualify him.

Preferred fighting method: Due to his prosthetic Alejandro will probably connect a shield to it. Otherwise, he will generally use a blunt sword in this case, but his preferred method tends to be more roguish, and that will show.

Anything else? She likes to scare her opponents by going berserker mode on them, but she's trained enough that she can control her berserks. Do not be alarmed by the shrieking rage she will not kill you. She hates dirty fighting though and if your character tries it she may just sit on them until they apologize.

He's also very aware of the fact that while he's quite good with a staff, his stamina leaves something to be desired when it comes to physical fights and he's not going to sign up to be beaten. That's what Circles are for.

He'll never refuse an archery contest, but the rest might sometimes get a verbal pat on the shoulder that nah, you really don't wanna do it, buddy.
Preferred fighting method: Fists, swords, knives, whatever, but most importantly: archery competitions.
