Red Lyrium research team!

...As near as we can determine, it is regular lyrium that has someone been corrupted. Those who have touched red lyrium -- or even come near it -- report that it "sings" to them, like whispers in the mind that slowly drive them mad.

Hello, everyone! For awhile now, I've wanted Christine to assemble a group to come together and study red lyrium in the hopes of using that knowledge to defeat Red Templars. With some additional information coming in from the mods, I'm ready to proceed to the next step! But first, I'd like to catch you all up on what's been happening so far with a little time line of events.

1. Christine is part of a group that discovers a drowned man in the Fallow Mire. Upon doing an autopsy, they discover red lyrium growing along his bones.
   
   
2. Christine is part of a scouting mission to Emprise du Lion where she sees both spikes of red lyrium and the transformed Red Templars firsthand.
   
   
3. Christine returns to Skyhold and posts a notice on the board asking anyone for information regarding red lyrium and for volunteers to help her research in the library. At this point, Varric tells her what he knows, so basically what we know if we're familiar with the events of DA2 and DAI when he explains the safety precautions he took in studying the red lyrium idol he had. So now she knows they'll need strong trunks to store the red lyrium in as well as rotating people to study it so they won't be affected by it. Anyone who had a character in game at this time (IC Haring 30th/OOC December 30th) and wants in can handwave that they said they wanted in at this time. Or you can say they came to Christine at a later date too. Word has spread about her researching this.
   
   
4. Christine returns to Emprise du Lion and marks down where there are red lyrium deposits for both destroying some, and having some available as samples, if she gets approval.
   
   
5. At the soiree, Christine talks to several nobles about funding this project, with the most interest coming from Bann Gwyneth Dyer of Ferelden. This isn't a guarantee of support, but it's something to let the advisers know in case they say the Inquisition doesn't have the funds for this project.

So now that we're all up to speed, the next part is for Christine to send a proposal to the advisers asking if the Inquisition would be willing to let her study this. If you have a character you want in on this, did you guys want to do an IC log where this research group sits down and composes the proposal together? Or would you guys rather hash things out in comments here? I'm good with writing it out myself with any ideas you want added, or I can make a Google Doc we could all just type into? I'm good with anything, really, just let me know.

I'd like her proposal to be sent shortly after the soiree, so backdated to Drakonis. The advisers are free to deny this request too, in which case, backup arrangements will have to be made for studying this outside of Skyhold and getting funding from nobles (or from other sources) for it. But if the advisers approve, then we can finally move forward with them researching it. The mods have said both Templars and mages can study it and try to negate magic/use magic on it, but anyone beyond these two groups can be a part of this too!

I would really love Ruby or Leliana to be in on this - Ruby would be more useful in terms of helping running around on missions, Leliana could be good for arranging some Advisor support, or something. HERE 4 THIS.

Great! I'm guessing there will be some red lyrium stuff in the other locations we do, so Ruby could get in on that, and adviser support would be amazing to have!

Okay, well no one's rushing to want to play this out IC, but is there anything you can think of that Merrill would want to add to it? It's just basically: "Hey, we want to study this to help our soldiers when fighting Red Templars. We know it's dangerous; here are the precautions we thought up, so can we pretty please do it?"
