MOD POST ↠ HALAMSHIRAL

HALAMSHIRAL UPDATES

Open Log

The open log for Halamshiral is here! Please pay particular attention to the OOC note, which states that any public character actions in the log may be taken into account for plot purposes: If PCs are visibly helpful in some way that may raise the Inquisition's standing and encourage Orlesians to listen to and work with them in the future. On the other hand, if your character behaves badly or strangely in the market that may harm the Inquisition's reputation and bargaining power (or enhance it, if they're particularly dashing and interesting about their bad behavior and direct it toward the right people).

We really are going to go through every thread in order to do this, but if you want to help us out by directing our attention to things of note that are taking place in public, that would be great! Please do so by commenting here.

Since we were so late in getting this up, threads in this open log may be used for either July or August's AC, even if they're started in July.

Closed Quests

The teams for our closed quests are:

  • ALIENAGE: Ciri, Sabine, Jamie, Eirlys, Hermione, and Martel
  • CARAVAN: Sadira, Bruce, Aveline, and Walker
  • DISPUTE: Andra, Cyril, Inessa, Bellamy, Adelaide, and Jeannot

We'll get these started ASAP! If your plans have changed or the fact that this is now more OOCly August than July doesn't work with your schedule and you're no longer interested in participating, please let us know right away--we had many more sign-ups than slots, this time, so we can substitute in other characters if necessary but need to do it soon.

    Player Plots

In addition to new War Table operations (!!!), we're working on a list of suggestions for player plot topics and IC pursuits. This includes both (a) canon missions/operations that we don't plan to incorporate into the modplot and would be glad to see players take on themselves and (b) general concepts, areas of interest/research, and underrepresented perspectives that it would be cool for people to explore. So if there's something you think is cool about Thedas but don't plan to use in a plot yourself, or perspectives you'd like to see highlighted, this would be a great time to let us know. You can comment on this post or add vague ideas to the plot request page.

Are any of those masks available to the Inquisition able to accommodate qunari or do the larger folk have an excuse for not wearing one?

Excellent. And yes, Korrin will be scowling at this thoughtfulness.

Regarding the closed plots - is it going to be an issue if someone is unable to tag most of the first week of August? I'll be at a convention and while I might be able to slip in some phone tags it's likely boomeranging is out of the question. While I would like to still be to participate, if that's going to be a problem I'd rather know so I can withdraw Jamie and open up a slot for someone else.

So I would like to know if they are going to be gaping at templars or glowering at them or throwing garlands of flowers at their return?

And, ahah, what about Grey Wardens?

A few of us were chatting about having some characters replant/plant a new Vhenadahl and make a memorial for those who died in the elven district while cleaning up. Is this something that should be run as a player plot or can we just jam it out? Or should we Not because it's potentially part of the Alienage quest?

Also, are the provided masks half masks or full masks or at our discretion (basically, could someone see vallaslin under them)?

Katniss is listening around, so not 'notable' but if there's any rumors that can pass her way that she can pass onto Leliana? It would be great for building up CR and my character. :)

Pel very willing to direct episodes of Horrible Histories: Excruciating Elves. Or just do some research into local elven history with whatever volunteers she can collect.

    Ooh got it.

But coming up with Horrible Histories: Excruciating Elves was worth the mistake.

Notable Public Action - James Norrington and his Templars are going around helping the alienage by bringing food, water, blankets and clothes.

Link is here. There might be some whispers about that he and Inessa want to start a school.

Inessa has focused her efforts on the burned portion of Halamshiral, tirelessly energizing supplies or debris for the workers and spending time/money on the local businesses. She's also spent time in the countryside, helping rid it of demons.

Sorry this is so late, but given my weak activity lately and the fact that I'll be going away next week, I think it might be for the best to withdraw Hermione from the alienage plot. I had thought I should be able to manage it, but given that I'm barely keeping up with existing tags at the moment, I figured it would be unfair to keep her involved in something that would likely start up when I might not have steady reliable access to a computer. Apologies for my lack of foresight!
