Comte Emeric Vauquelin has information detailed in old records regarding under the table Orlesian politicking and business deals that he believes might be useful to the Inquisition's efforts with regard to the current deadlocks in Orlais; he thinks it would be best if it were collected directly by the Inquisition, and seeing as how Gwenaëlle is an old hand at getting around her father (just in case there's anything else he's leaving out), she's going with a small group of actual Inquisition members to do it.

ESTABLISHED STUFF

The small group consists of LEX LUTHOR, BELLAMY BLAKE, HERIAN AMSEL, ALISTAIR NOT-THEIRIN AND THRANDUIL OROPHERION. Plus NPC GUENIEVRE BAUDIN. Their trip will happen at the end of Kingsway, with the post going up on the 25th Sep.
On the way there they will be beset by a Dalish clan, and Guenievre will die.
They still have to go to the Vauquelin estate and deal with Emeric.
And then go home! Everything's fine, probably.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO ESTABLISH

Is there anything people particularly want to thread out / accomplish / what have you??? Loosely thinking: travel, fight, estate times, go home. Colouring in however makes y'all happy.

what sets the clan off into attacking?

opportunism! look at these smooth motherfucking humans with all their shit, and their shit not real elves traveling with them like that's okay. let's fuck them up and take their stuff.

is it a group of scouts making a choice, or is the clan backing them AND do they want to kill everyone and take their stuff or just disable them AND do they go after guen first?

my understanding (we are using the same clan as a plot that will come later) is that it is a solid clan of douchebags, yeah! i think bella has more details on that front.

they're not individually targeting anyone so much as the intention is definitely no one walking away. tho they have a thing for killing flat-ears i think, so, it's probably not unrelated.

So I don’t want to go too much into later stuff lest it spoil things for someone else’s upcoming plot, but basically:

— same Dalish clan that attacked Herian and the refugees she was accompanying on their way from Val Firmin to Halamshiral
— have been becoming more violent and opportunistic as civil war rages on in Orlais
— the attacking party itself won’t be the entire clan, but they will have clan support and backing
— iiiii can make up and provide more info, I just need to check in to make sure nothing I come up with clashes with plans/discussions for the other plot they are linked into

Are tents being shared?

Am I overestimating the length of this trip. I assumed there would be sleeping.

I TOO ASSUME THERE WILL BE SLEEPING. The estate is separate from their Halamshiral house, it's fairly out of the way.

So tents are definitely being shared is what I'm saying.
