PLAYER PLOT ↠ Krebulash the Epithet

Once upon a time, an aging apostate named Krebulash the Epithet discovered that his power was waning. Desperate to retain it, he sent a request through the Mage's Collective in search of a brave, broke hero who wouldn't ask any questions, such as: Does the power of mages actually wane? Is this something that happens to all mages or does it mean you've done something wrong? What are you doing with this power? How do I know that this isn't a trick? Who named you? Not your mother, surely. Did you name yourself?
That brave, broke hero was Jonas Cousland, who, along with his equally brave and broke companions, placed Krebulash the Epithet's glyphs at four mystical sites of power throughout Ferelden so that Krebulash could claim the power in this places for his own use and they could claim their prize of two (2) sovereigns. They etched the glyphs at sites in the ORTAN THAIG, KINLOCH HOLD, BRECILIAN FOREST, and DENERIM ALIENAGE. They got their two (2) sovereigns. And Krebulash the Epithet was never heard from again………
Until now.
On Harvestmere 23 the entire village at Southmere will freeze in place. Investigation will reveal Krebulash the Epithet poised over his spellbook, also frozen--having channeled the power from those four mystical sites, now even greater given the veil's instability, into one unintentionally powerful and enormous glyph of paralysis.
To end spell without harming the townspeople, four teams will trek across Ferelden to remove Krebulash's glyphs and siphon off the magic that's fueling the paralysis. Finding them will be easy. Removing them will also be easy. Dealing with what happens when a strong, steady flow of magical energy through an already thin and increasingly unstable veil is suddenly dammed and overflows into an area where a lot of people have died in a lot of horrible ways will be. not easy.
OOC DETAILS
WHO: Four teams of 2-5!!! people apiece. Origins companions have guaranteed slots (one per team) if they want them, since this is all their faults, but some teams might just be given a map and a glyph doodle and an encouraging pat on the back.
WHAT: Angry spirits, chatty demons, revenanty revenants, mad rhymes.
WHEN: The logs will go up by October 22, forward-dated a few days, and be wrapped up by Harvestmere 29, which should give everyone enough time to get home for Satinalia.
HOW: This is a low-commitment thing, with one GMed thread per team for removing the glyphs and handling the resultant trouble. I'll also give open sets for the general area for camping/exploring/mingling/whatever people want to do on their own, but only the one GMed log is ""required.""
Sign-ups and questions below. :D
