PLOTTING POST: FALSE GODS, PT 1
The first plot log for time travelers and their future friends has been posted. Only part of that log is currently available. This is a plotting post for their escape from Kirkwall, which will take place IC in five days. Since there are so many characters involved, we're providing an outline of the escape plan rather than GMing it from beginning to end, and players can play the portions of it that they want to play. We'll post additional top-level comments in that log for the escape once there's been a little time to plan it here.
A general outline of the escape:
- An NPC who drags characters away for presumably torture will instead deliver information to one or more of the imprisoned PCs. In addition to information, the NPC will give someone keys to the cells for the characters who are in the communal prison area and one of the confiscated sending crystals to facilitate reaching outside help. This will be GMed.
- Once the characters from Step 1 have returned and passed around the keys so everyone is out of their cells, there will be an open log for getting past the guards in the dungeon and finding a place to hide for a few hours.
- While hiding, the team will cook up a Cunning Plan. They'll also be able to reach out to non-imprisoned characters who may be able to help--any spies, infiltrators, saboteurs, etc., currently in Kirkwall--using the crystal. This will mostly be handwaved.
- The Cunning Plan could include retrieving any other imprisoned characters in other areas of the Gallows, going after traitors to drag them home to face justice, creating diversions in the city to draw troops away from the Gallows, etc. This will be a free-for-all; it won't be GMed, so you can group off to play parts of it on your own, running into as much or as little trouble along the way as you'd like.
- Everyone who lives through this and wants to go back to Ferelden will rendezvous in a cave on the Wounded Coast and catch a boat to safety. (Characters are also welcome to escape into the mountains or find their own way back to Ferelden later.)
