Who They Are: a maid! a pretty new one. well, not pretty. but she's very excited about making your beds and cleaning out your chamber pots because it really beats... everything else she's done before now. oops!

ioane is a 100% normal human peasant from ferelden, she came to the inquisition for relatively mundane tragic backstory reasons. she is super idealistic about the inquisition to compensate for being super pessimistic about everything else. just because she's a maid doesn't mean she's particularly good at it, having no training, and she doesn't like taking orders.

surely this will work out great for everyone!

Where They've Been: ioane is from denerim and knows its gutters, slums and petty crime scene pretty well. she traveled from there to the inquisition on foot, and boy, it was a slow trudge. she only just got to skyhold, just in time for everybody to up and leave; she volunteered to join the servants being sent to kirkwall because she didn't come all this way to get left behind in the snow.

What They Want: security, influence... attention? ioane will settle for attention. it's pretty novel. on a larger scale she wants to feel like her brother's death wasn't in vain, like she's a person worthy of being welcomed into other people's lives, and the sense that she's safe and has earned that safety. but. y/k. she'll settle for attention.

she would also like some beer.

Plot & CR Desires:

• i'd really love ioane to work up relationships with the people who serves, either positive or negative. are you kind to the servants and want to gain a maid who will leave you nice things and try extra hard to make sure your room smells nice? or are you shitty to servants and want to start a snitfit with the help? i'm down 4 it
• ioane has worked with city elves before and can navigate around them p well but knows shit nothing about any other kind of elf and has zero idea what to do, someone help her before she says something offensive (or be around when she says something offensive).
• are you a mage? prepare to be asked a barrage of questions if you're even remotely nice to her
• ioane has a tendency to be nosy, and while she won't poke through your things, if she catches you seeming sad or out of sorts, she will ask after you and has a tendency to dote if you're even remotely receptive. god, she's lonely
• ioane isn't a total blank slate, but she's at the point in her life where she has a huge amount of potential to change and grow. i apped her into this game because i want to see how it goes. she could very easily end up leaving her position as a maid if she develops other skills, and end up being folded into some other aspect of the inquisition. or she could do something else. it all depends on how things go, and i'm open to everything. ioane is very easily influenced at this point in her life, and as cr develops it will hugely influence her thinking on subjects she hasn't really thought of in detail before. which is to say, most subjects? (except the current ferelden royal family, who are perfect and blameless fuck you)

Anything Else: im xtreemly excited to be here and cant wait to do lots of stuff. ioane may seem like a pretty mundane character but i look forward to affording opportunities for unusual cr that can develop into new and interesting directions. ioane is nosy and excited and curious and pushy and stubborn, and while she's starting as a maid, it's entirely possible she'll develop into something else. or not. we'll see how it goes! thank u 4 the opportunity, i look forward to working with all of you. i'm sorry this ended up sounding like a job interview.

First, if you haven't already joined our Discord server, yooo.

Second, I'm MJ and I playyyy Alistair here, blah blah blah etc, and I also have an AU version of Clarke Griffin from The 100 who's a mage and around Ioane's age!! and there aren't many people in that age group—which I love, it's nice for the young folks to actually be the young folks—but they should definitely meet. She might not be incredibly nice but she can manage remotely nice, probably.

And I have an OC named Jehan who is a Chantry Brother but was before that a noble, Orlesian style. He's generally very polite to the help but has fun being sweetly condescending at Fereldans and playing "why are you insulted? I didn't say anything insulting" with people so. Maybe also that.

Welcome to the game, Pel! I'm Isana, and I have two ladies in Fade Rift; Inessa Serra, an elven Grey Warden mage who used to live in Denerim's alienage. She was taken really young, so I doubt they would have had a chance to meet, but still a starting point. Plus she's so Fereldan that she has a mabari of her own. My other is Korrin Ataash, a Vashoth mercenary mage who's really not as intimidating as she might seem. In either case, servants are well-treated by them.

Name: Kattrin the Exile

Who They Are: Kattrin is a young woman who is exiled from the Avvar people. This is something she placed on herself for having broken an oath she made while with her people. She mainly keeps personal information to herself but has a strong desire to help others. She is a mage as well with a focus on healing techniques and has a little fennec that follows her around. Please do not call the fennec her pet though.
Where They've Been: She lived most of her life in the Frostbacks with the Avvar. Since leaving she's been wandering about until she saw the Inquisition close a rift from a distance. Now she's gone to Kirkwall to help them, believing their quest to be holy.
What They Want: To help the Inquisition in their quest and to provide healing to others. Perhaps even to find a place in the world again since she gave hers up.
Plot & CR Desires: For right now it would be great for her to start developing friendships with others. That way they can start to get to know her and she can begin opening up to them as well. I'm open up for all kinds of CR but be aware that she will be very cautious around Templar especially due to her being a hedge mage. Also she isn't familiar with a lot of lowlander customs and so on which means she may have people do tasks for her before she offers information or trust.
Anything Else: She has a rough past with the man she was married to and has scars on her back from an incident with that. Please note that she does not hate the man nor does she fear others bringing her harm. Your character may not learn this stuff right away but I want to be open about it ahead of time.

Clarke here is a non-Avvar who spent most of the Mage/Templar war hiding in the Frostbacks with the Avvar (including briefly fighting with them too) and has a Complicated relationship with Lexa, who's AU'd as an Avvar thane—so, anyway, they could probably have some interesting conversations sometime. Clarke hangs out around the healers a lot so it should be pretty easy for me to hit you up sometime. :D

Awesome! If you want, Korrin could know about her already, since she's been cultivating her ties with the local Avvar/has basically been everywhere in southern Thedas. Nothing deep, if you'd rather her earn trust, and that's fine with me. Inessa is less likely but still possible.

Hey! We threaded a teeny bit on the TDM, but Simon would be fascinated to meet Kattrin for real even if she is a mage, because he's kind of...whatever an Avvar weeaboo would be called. He thinks they're awesome, okay.

He, uh, will still get defensive about being a templar, but he's going to have to learn to work past that eventually, so it'll be good practice for him.

Who They Are: Simon is a templar whose conscience isn't sure what it wants, and consequently, his career until now has been spent bouncing around different Circles looking for one whose culture would suit him. He's not a cruel man, and wants above all to see justice done and people made safe, but his views on how to do that run from the conservative to the extremely conservative.
Where They've Been: Simon's spent his entire life in the Free Marches--he was born, raised and trained in Tantervale, stationed from age 18 to 21 in the Gallows, and has spent the nine years between then and now in Ansburg.
What They Want: He believes that he wants a return to the status quo (Circle system restored, templar order resurrected from the ashes, all the demons gone, etc.) If pressed, he'll concede that it's not that simple, but he still thinks that the basic structure of the way things were needs to be put back into place, and he wants to work toward that. On a more personal level, he wants to find somewhere he can settle down and feel a real sense of belonging. He's never really had that before.
Plot & CR Desires: for people to make Simon lighten up I'd love for Simon to bond with other templars, because he's never quite felt like he fit with the rest of the Order, and for him to have reasoned discussion with mages even if he's not going to be converted to the total-mage-freedom cause. He really wants to feel useful and make friends. I'm sure I will be able to think of more as I get into the swing of things!
Anything Else: please be patient with Ser Buzzkill Whinyskirts; he needs to learn how to fun.

Who They Are: Mage. Elf. Orlesian. Former Slave. Former Grey Warden. Former Grand Enchanter. Former Rebel Mage. Inquisition Agent. Paramour of King Maric. Mother of Alistair. She has more titles than Daenerys!
Where They've Been: Born in Orlais she had a normal life before some unpleasant things happen as they often do and she tapped into her magic abilities. She was then sent to a circle in Orlais, most likely Montsimmard, and she loathed it. Once she became a Grey Warden she did...a lot more traveling: the Anderfels, Orlais, Ferelden, and the Deep Roads. Cumberland after becoming the Grand Enchanter. For the Inquisition she goes where they send her as an envoy, which is my excuse for her absence.
What They Want: Presently to redeem herself and aid the Inquisition. Her overarching desire is mage freedoms and rights. Perhaps establishing some kind of relationship with her son. Finding out what happened to Maric.
Plot & CR Desires: I have nothing locked in at the moment as far as plots go, future interests include looking into some of the relics from her days as a Warden which includes Duncan's obsidian dagger and those brooches. I'll take all of the CR!

I didn't have much CR with our previous Fiona, but Christine is an avid supporter of Fiona and her views on mage freedom, except for her indenturing Christine and the rest to Tevinter. She was planning to leave the group over that decision before the Inquisition took them in. Anyway, Christine was in Montsimmard Circle and really didn't like it or the Grand Game either. And she's a Spirit Healer so they have that in common too!
