Kirkwall Open Post: Do YOU need help?

With the arrival of the Inquisition in Kirkwall en masse, Cole is devoting himself wholesale to trying to help every single person who needs his help.

A lot of those people in need are Inquisition members. If your muse is struggling, suffering or otherwise need in help, leave details here and I'll give you a starter on the post when it open on Friday (Australia time).

This is a good excuse to highlight the difficulties and pain your muses are currently going through and a sympathetic ear to listen (and maybe help).

Aww, I love this! Christine's been having a hard time working in the Gallows because she keeps thinking of the mages and Tranquil who have suffered there. When the spirits were active, she got locked in a room and felt really trapped and helpless. Since then, she's had a couple panic attacks in the Gallows, and spends the bare minimum of time required there per day.

She's also a Spirit Healer and has a Spirit of Faith lingering next to her in the Fade. Faith's been trying to help, but at this point, the spirit is a little overwhelmed by Kirkwall and is trying to unravel it all before she can reach out to Christine and better comfort her.

Well the thing about her specialization is she has an understanding with Faith and isn't looking to have that with other spirits. It's complicated, but basically she trusts Faith, but it would take time with other spirits, so she wouldn't use their help. But if Cole wants to keep her focused on healing to take her mind off her surroundings, that would work really well for her.

We've chatted a bit about it, but of course Anders is dealing with all of the memories Kirkwall brings with it and the baggage and guilt and such. The Gallows are probably the most difficult place because for all of the mages his network managed to smuggle out, there were so many more they didn't, and of course there's the memory of Karl spending his last few years in those walls.

Getting him out of his own head is really helpful, basically, making him talk instead of dwell, or making him do stuff instead of dwell.

Saoirse has SO MANY feelings when it comes to being both in Kirkwall and, especially, back in the Gallows again. She was a mage inside the Circle during those final years so has a lot of hideous shit buried deep from abuse, torture and seeing her fellow mages made tranquil or killed.

She tries not to show any of those harder feeling, preferring to keep them underneath her worry for others but it is noticeably festering at this point.

Yeah, Saoirse won't be spending a lot of time in the Gallows if she can help it and will likely be hanging around in local taverns or around her fellow city elves. But to give an idea of her, she is a very devout Andrastian and adores trinkets with images of Andraste. She is also a bard so she loves being able to sing for people!

Oh! And since we have a thread with Ciri and Cole happening at the moment, I figure I would give a little about her because she is a prickly and bitterly mad child currently. She only just showed up in Kirkwall after riding back into the Anderfels for... who knows why, super anger about everything? She was part of the group that saved the Anderfels' little prince and she adores him from their time together so she feels especially bad for what the Wardens have done to themselves, the country and ultimately him and his family, of course.

There is also a lot of survivor's guilt: she is the only member of her noble family to survive the Blight, she is the only member of her gang of outlaws to survive too and when her and her lover took part in the Joining? YEAH!! basically, I am sorry about all of her feelings that she buries so, so deep.

TL;DL: she is a mess of sharp, angry emotions and survivor's guilt to the extreme.

BOY HOWDY do you have yourself a case here Cole

Cyril's mun told u that Merrick would be a great candidate for Cole's help and I'm def interested!! I'm not sure how much she explained to u but yeah, Merrick basically spent the last two months searching for his lover only to find his bow in the possession of a bunch of bandits. He's goin through some Shit. He also has like a whole HOST of other issues and like basically he could really benefit from Cole's help. ;;

If u want u can add me on my plurk [profile] zombietoad and we can discuss?

Inessa doesn't have it as badly as the mages above, but that said she's definitely tense due to the thinness of the Veil, the weight of all that history, and the scrutiny doubtless given every mage in the city. She lives in the Gallows to be close to the griffons, but isn't excessively thrilled about that fact and has conflicting feelings about living in a Circle again even though it's not technically one now. (She loved 99% of her life in the Circle...but the 1% basically scarred her for life, thanks to Uldred's rebellion.) And in typical Inessa fashion, she deals with all this (on top of her other issues) by squashing her feelings down and overloading herself with work so she doesn't have to face any of it. Garahel's doing his best to nudge her out of bad habits, but he could use a little help.

She may reside in the Gallows for now, but it's easy to place her elsewhere as she'll need a break from that place sooner or later.

Kain can definitely use a Cole-talk, like we'd talked about maybe doing with his last post. He's got a bunch of things weighing on his mind at the moment. One thing is everything that he's been told about the potential future: he's afraid he'll be dying horrifically of red lyrium, and that Inessa may share his fate soon after... not to mention the whole Inquisition falling. He's scared that no matter what he does to change that fate, it'll still happen somehow.

Alongside that, he's got a lot of uncertainty still about his feelings about Inessa and how to deal with them. He's failed once in love before and is afraid of the same rejection happening again.

I'm taking a little break with him the first couple weeks of the month, so he'll be kind of out of it (decided to just say he's injured to shove him out of action), and more or less in the clinic or around the area. But something dated late in the month is perfect!

That'll be great! Kain needs that sort of thing, whether or not he realizes it.

Also, I'm actually good for it anytime (as long as it's forward-dated). I may be very slow but I'm up for it!
