WHAT
As new housing options become available for those affiliated with the Inquisition, Lady Vauquelin (along with the Duke de Coucy, and Morrigan's Kieran) will be relocating to a Hightown home where she will make her base. At roughly the same time, an increase in missing elves from the Kirkwall alienage will be becoming noticeable to anyone who cares to notice - though, who cares to notice some more missing elves, right? Certainly not Gwenaëlle, noted asshole; but increasingly suspicious behaviour of her Hightown neighbour will draw her attention, eventually requiring the aid of the Inquisition in investigating the increasingly likely prospect that the man next door is a Tevinter slaver acting as a spy for Corypheus. The ideal outcome? His living capture, a boon to the Inquisition and a PR opportunity to prove that they will work thoughtfully and methodically and without upending Kirkwall.

So try not to upend Kirkwall in the process.

WHEN & HOW
This plot will be a slow-burn, taking place over the course of several months - rather than a single event log broken down, it will be a project to be worked on that can be made up of multiple separate logs over time, as people involved pursue different plot threads. There will be opportunities to use the de Coucy home as a base to spy on their neighbours; others will need to follow up on the elven disappearances, going to the alienage, talking to the families affected. Someone might want to stalk Our Villain through his daily life. Characters involved do not need to stay involved all the way through - they can contribute to part of the investigation that interests them and leave the rest to someone else!

WHO
Due to the above, I don't have a hard and fast requirement for numbers - let me know if you're interested and we can figure out what's going to be the best way to get your character involved. The only real requirement for involvement is "able and willing to work with both Gwenaëlle and Thranduil, who are massive pains in the ass", and ensuring that characters volunteering for tasks are suited to them. E.G. Romain will probably not be holding the hands of bereft elves in the alienage; Yngvi will probably not be stalking through the streets of Hightown unnoticed.

There will be a final confrontation log. Rather than scheduling that now, it'll be a case of seeing how we go and playing it by ear as to when The Time Is Right.

Plot threads can be handled multiple ways; if something happens in the background of something else, or if you have characters discuss what they're working on + telling each other about what they discovered, that's absolutely cool.

MOTIVE: Literally combat rolls around in her life, Yngvi also pays attention to alienage news (none of you are allowed to know he has such emotions except Gwen and Wren)
CONCEPT: "IDK it looks cool" he can put the Boneflayers on standby as his lady knows should people want to just get the hell out of Kirkwall, who'd blame them?

CONCEPT: When/if he finds out who is heading up the search, he can be a source of information as well as offer healing for a major confrontation, or whatever you could use him for.

CHARACTER: Alistair!!!!!!!
MOTIVE: Alistair likes Gwen and Kieran (so he'll plausibly be hanging around uninvited without needing a specific In), justice, and elves not dying.
CONCEPT: I am down for anything, even if it's just being around once or twice when shit is going down with more actively involved people so he can comment on it and facilitate RP. But he could also potentially be useful for (a) pretending to be a dumb bodyguard, (b) blocking doorways with his body, (c) distracting harmless side nobles from suspicious stuff with Blight stories and his humor and easy grace (actual canon quote), though he'll complain about that one, or (d) setting off traps with his face so no one else has to deal with them.

CONCEPT: Given what he does and who he is, a Tevinter spy in his backyard is Not Ideal. He is great at lying and dealing with nobles, surely something will come up.

MOTIVE: He's got a ton on his plate, but this is going to end up being a large scale concern, and those make it into his sphere eventually. Also, it's going to be important to Gwen, so he will take notice.
CONCEPT: Being Cullen Rutherford, and therefore well known, he might be something of a hindrance for a good portion of this. Aside from being able to direct resources to it. When it comes time for the rubber to meet the road, though, he's fucking scary in a fight. /least helpful suggestions ever, I know.

CHARACTER: Natasha Romanoff
MOTIVE: Someone will have to ask her for help, that's the thing. Though, I mean, it doesn't have to be at all formal. It could end up being as simple as she hears something, mentions it to someone else, and that person (being already involved) asks her to look into that a little more. She'd be in at that point.
CONCEPT: Nat is good at gathering information, has a network of contacts in the city, and is also good at bluffing her way into situations. She spent a fairly long time in Orlais passing for a noble woman and didn't have any problems there. She's also great at getting answers out of people, provided you don't mind how she does it or need that person to be fully functioning at the end of it.

So, really, there are a few different places where she could be of use, and I'm fine with her just being slotted into whichever role you haven't filled at the end of things.

MOTIVE: Myr is 1. a soft touch and 2. undoubtedly gonna visit the alienage, albeit with some trepidation, to get an idea if there's anything he can do to help. Would not be hard for him to encounter word of disappearances there but then how he'd get hooked up with other people on the plot is the tricky bit. Potentially through Sina or Saoirse, neither of which he has CR with right now but [clenches fists] I want it.
CONCEPT: It looks cool, gives Myr an opportunity to meet people and get out of his comfort to do some good, also get back at the Imperium in a small way for his family's sake.

MOTIVE: Not in an organized, taking-orders-from-someone-else kind of way, but he's the sort of person who if he overheard that alienage elves were disappearing, he'd just find some reason to be in the area to do a little snooping. It's something he'd probably do on his own time.
CONCEPT: I've got a few vague ideas but nothing I can articulate clearly just yet.
