HELLO. This is MJ (Alistair, mod stuff, feel free to add me on plurk @ circuitry) returning with one character and adding a brand new one.
Jehan is back from his very long trip to Orlais. For folks who don't remember or never met him, he's an Orlesian Chantry brother who wishes he was Brother Genitivi; he's very nice and polite on the surface but can kind of be a dick, especially since he has the whole gentle patronizing racism against elves and Qunari thing going on. He and his biffies Val and Freddie have been on a lot of academic Indiana Jones style adventures and also spend a lot of time trying to make non-Orlesians feel bad about themselves via sending crystal.
Past CR: He and they have been all over Thedas in pursuit of KNOWLEDGE so previous run-ins are possible with probably anyone, plus past CR is possible with Orlesians (especially nobility) or Chantry personnel or people who studied at the University.
Kostos is my new dude. He's a Nevarran mage who's a religious Loyalist but spent the last several years fighting with the mage rebellion because it seemed like a good idea at the time. If you tell him he's a hypocrite who doesn't make any sense he'll be like SHUT UP, I KNOW and drink something straight from the bottle. He's also a spirit medium who doesn't really like spirits all that much, and he can stuff one of them into a corpse for you if you need, but he'll be grouchy about it.
Past CR: He's spent time in the circles in Cumberland (9:22-28), Nevarra City (9:28-32), Ghislain (9:32-39), and Ansburg (9:39-40), so mages or Templars from any of those places might know him already if the dates line up. He was also with the mage rebellion the entire time it was happening, and then some, so folks might know him from that too, either because they were fighting together or because they were trying to kill each other. lmk. :D

He was sent to Ansburg (a) to help a character Cami is hopefully apping soon with spirit stuff and (b) because he was annoying the heck out of everyone in Ghislain, he's a Loyalist but he also watched Templars like a hawk and reported them to their bosses for sneezing too loud (not really) (but you know). I assume Simon never put feet out of line really but Kostos totally could have blamed him for something not his fault anyway, at some point. Like a newly retrieved mage-kid having an injury they caused themselves but Kostos like WHAT DID YOU DO @ Simon.
Or they could have just scowled in their separate corners, that totally works too.

Also this idea would be amazing, because there is NOTHING that will make Simon hold a grudge like being blamed for something he didn't do. And then the scowling could immediately commence again upon reintroduction.
Which would be conflicting, because he likes to think he gets along well with Loyalists, but then Kostos shows up and Simon's like "nope. nuh-uh. not that dude. fuck that dude."

Jehan at least will definitely go to Myr's Chant discussion!! Kostos might too. He loves the Chant. He just also hates groups of people and talking to them, so we'll have to see.

Fantastic! Jehan will be a great addition and Kostos is more than welcome to scowl in a corner; bonus, Myr won't be able to see him to call on him. :T

The dates wouldn't match up for Inessa, but I look forward to her meeting him anyway. It'll be fun.
And if Jehan ever made himself hang out with Avvar, I'm up for Skadi knowing him. She's friendly as a default, but she will be all 'barbarian' at him, so.

It'll def be fun for them to meet. :D
And it would be 100% possibly for Jehan to have hung out with Avvar at some point. He's into historical theology and Andraste's life/early years afterwards, so Avvar as a relic of the old pre-schism Alamarri would be super interesting to him. :D He's pretty clever so if she's going hard on the barbarian schtick while other Avvar acted normal he'd probably figure out that she was having him on, but he'd also probably just let her do it without comment.
