Naval Presence chat
Hi folks so in addition to the War Table things going on there are also the Harvestmere orders from Skyhold relating to Qunari dreadnought that hasn't sunk and was last seen floating in the Waking sea between Alammar and Brandel's Reach.
It's abandoned, an indication of violence by way of a few bodies in the hold so perhaps a mutiny with pirates having stripped the cannons except for one cracked into pieces. Only the smallest traces of gaatlok will be present, there's no new technology etc. So either taking it back to the Qunari could be a sign of good faith or keeping it could allow the Inquisition to borrow ideas rom it or to perhaps use it in the future to move through Qunari controlled waters but with their spies, we'd need to hide it. Kirkwall, fortunately, has caves.
The proposed assignment is:
The second thing to discuss is the Venatori ship (thanks to Jay for bringing this up with the mods, the thread is here) that was captured.
In summary the ship isn't a huge ship that's been built for speed and maneuverability due to the Qunari with a maximum crew of 40 that will remain Inquisition property with day-to-day stewardship/captaincy being up to Araceli. If that person is unavailable for a mission that required use of it then the ship would be used without them if necessary.
eta Have some war table assignments!

The proposed assignment is:
- to figure out how to recover the ship and bring it back to Kirkwall
- the above requires finding it, boarding it, and figuring out how to pilot it
- afterwards it's up to project leaders to decide what to do with it via other powers + division heads
- especially if we decide to return the ship instead of any definite decisions
- what is most interesting to play out from the above (finding it, trying to work it, general exploration)
- style of post (crystal post, log? Multiple threads or one thread?)
- character opinions; everyone in Naval Presence would be asked even if they don't end up on the mission, I want it to really feel like a team being involved and to try to do that
- sign-ups will be on the war table page, maybe track the naval presence tag or I'll let you all know when I put stuff up

- Who would like to throw their hat in the ring for captaincy? ICly Araceli and Flint have brought up that as it stands Flint, Vane, and Araceli from what's in their little profiles have the IC experience currently to take on that role
- Please remember that they'll need to demonstrate some suitability to it (i.e. have you actually sailed before, have you had any experience captaining or at least being in charge of people on a ship?)
eta Have some war table assignments!
Re: venatori ship
Also, here's a blurb about his experience. In normal, OU canon, Vane has historically been on of the most famous captains of all time, not to mention and within the Black Sails universe, in the top 5 of most feared names in piracy for that. In his Dragon Age AU, that infamousy should be about the same. He's coming from being a pirate trained under Blackbeard for the laaaast 15+ years, having been a pirate captain around a decade so far, and one of the leaders of the coalition to defend Nascere. His last captained ship was a Man of War, a ship larger than Flint's Galleon, but he's captained things even as small as Sloops.
