help wanted
Hiya! This is a sign-up post for three different player plots. I’m sorry. But they’re all pretty simple and low-commitment! I’ll put logs up mid-month, so let me know if you want to come along by September 13 or so. ☆゚°˖* ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
RECON IN THE ANDERFELS
RECON IN THE ANDERFELS
WHO: Alistair and 1-3 people who can reasonably exist behind enemy lines without immediately drawing attention to themselves but can also reasonably defend themselves (or at least run really fast) if attention is nonetheless drawn.BLACKMAIL IN ANTIVA
WHAT: Sneaking into the Anderfels to find out more about what’s going on over there and why. Why, Anderfels, why! They’ll hang out in Hossberg pretending to be pilgrims or merchants or something and mostly keeping their heads down so they can accumulate information and get a read on what the populace believes, while keeping an eye out for signs of dissent and potential contacts for le future. Then they’ll have to make a hasty escape pursued by guards. They might also shove a demon-bound Warden into a sack and bring them back.
HOW: It’s a lot of lowkey info-gathering that will mostly be handwaved, so the main group thread will probably be the chase out of Hossberg. But I can make room for people to do threads focused on the other aspects, too.
WHO: Bastien and 1-3 other people who want to be nonviolently sneaky in Antiva. Amateurs welcome—if someone isn’t good at acting or whatever we can invent a task that’s perfect for them just the way they are.PROBLEM MAGES IN ORLAIS
WHAT: Picking a Merchant Prince’s name out of a hat and digging into his dealings until something that might help change his mind about neutrality comes up. Specifically they’ll be able to get proof one Prince is sabotaging another and use that to make one or the other agree to back them if the others do. (One down, eleven to go!) This is super flexible. So far my two main ideas are (1) befriending a group of pirates who were paid to sink a rival Prince’s ships and getting them drunk enough to talk about it, and (2) pretending to be merchants to get into a meeting and having to improvise a sales pitch for something they know nothing about. But it can be basically anything.
HOW: Winging it! Possibly splitting people up to get different pieces of info in different places off-screen and having the main thread be when they all meet afterwards to compare notes and explain why they’re wet or covered in confetti. Maybe they have to go get a missing party member out of Antiva Jail. The sky’s the limit.
WHO: Kostos and 1-3 other people equipped to track down and neutralize naughty mages. It’ll be pretty Mage Problems focused—maybe also Rifter Problems if any rifters come—but non-mage characters are still invited!
WHAT: As a favor to the Inquisition, which is not involving its own people for morale or objectivity reasons or something, they’ll be looking into reports that Inquisition mages are misbehaving near the front and causing damage to local farms and villages, prompting the locals to complain all mages are rotten and these aren’t being kept on a short enough leash. The culprits will actually be enterprising enemy mages in stolen uniforms, so there will be a nice no-holds-barred scuffle in the woods. Then the locals will throw our heroes a parade! Not really. What’s the opposite of a parade.
HOW: The main two threads will be (1) the fight and (2) a miserable unscheduled camping trip afterwards, but I can make room for other travel and tracking top levels if people want those.
